Influence of Oxygen, Water, Chlorine, and Bromine on the Transport of Carbon in Systems Containing FluorineFor the systems C(s)—F—O, C(s)—F—O—H, C(s)—F—Cl, and C(s)—F—Br the composition as well as the carbon solubility of the gas-phase have been calculated as a function of the temperature. According to that oxygen and water act unfavourably on the carbon transport in carbon fluorine lamps. Bromine behaves like an inert gas. Chlorine causes an increase of the solubility at temperatures below 900 K, consequently leading to an enlargement of the temperature range satisfying the “non-blackening” condition provided that the equilibrium is attained in the wall region.

Für die Systeme C(s)—F—O, C(s)—F—O—H, C(s)—F—Cl und C(s)—F—Br wurden sowohl die Zusammensetzung der Gasphase als auch die Löslichkeit von Kohlenstoff in der Gasphase als Funktion der Temperatur berechnet. Danach wirken sich Sauerstoff und Wasser ungünstig auf das Transportgeschehen in Kohlenstoff-Fluor-Lampen aus. Brom verhält sich wie ein Inertgas. Chlor bewirkt bei Temperaturen unter 900 K eine Erhöhung der Löslichkeit und somit - die Einstellung des Gleichgewichtes im Wandbereich vorausgesetzt - eine Vergrößerung des Temperaturbereiches mit erfüllter Nichtschwärzungsbedingung.
