La présente étude constitue une première contribution à l’évaluation et la cartographie du stock de Phorcus articulatus (Gastéropode, trochidé) le long du littoral des îles Kerkennah. Les prélèvements des échantillons ont été réalisés à l’aide d’un quadra et selon des radiales perpendiculaires à la côte. Au total, 48 stations réparties sur 27 radiales autour des îles Gharbi et Chergui on été échantillonnées saisonnièrement durant l’année 2009. Les résultats obtenus montrent que la répartition géographique de l’abondance et de la biomasse de Phorcus articulatus n’est pas uniforme sur toute la zone estran des îles Kerkennah, elle semble être influencée par plusieurs facteurs environnementaux et anthropiques. A titre d’exemple, les fortes abondances ont été enregistrées dans les zones naturellement plus riches en ressources trophiques, et l’hydrodynamisme semble jouer également un rôle important dans la distribution des classes de taille, puisque les adultes dominent dans la zone rocheuse du nord-est où les courants marins sont plus forts.

This study is a first contribution to the assessment and cartography of the stock of Phorcus articulatus (Gastropod, Trochidae) along the coast of the Kerkennah Islands. Samples were collected using a quadrat and depending on radials perpendicular to the coastline. In total, 48 stations spread over 27 radials around the islands Gharbi and Chergui were seasonally sampled during 2009. Results show that the spatial distribution of the abundance and biomass of Phorcus articulatus is not uniform along the coast; it seems to be influenced by several environmental and anthropogenic factors. For example, the high abundances were recorded in areas naturally rich in trophic resources, and hydrodynamics also appears to play an important role in the distribution of size classes, since adults dominate the rocky area in the North-East where marine currents are stronger.
