Description: Author(s): L. J. Flores, E. A. Garcés, and O. G. Miranda One of the main purposes of long-baseline neutrino experiments is to unambiguously measure the C P violating phase in the neutrino sector within the three neutrino oscillation picture. In the presence of physics beyond the Standard Model, the determination of the C P phase will be more difficult, due ... [Phys. Rev. D 98, 035030] Published Tue Aug 21, 2018

Description: Author(s): R. Martinez, R. Gaitán, J. H. Montes de Oca, and E. A. Garcés We compute the contributions to rare top decays t → c Z and t → c h 1 from the scalar sector in the two Higgs doublet model type III with C P violation, where h 1 is the Standard Model Higgs boson. The branching ratios for BR ( t → c Z ) and BR ( t → c h 1 ) are obtained as a function of the model parameters. In particul... [Phys. Rev. D 98, 035031] Published Tue Aug 21, 2018

Description: At the National Park, Cienaga de Zapata inhabits the land crab (Cardisoma guanhumi, Lattreille, 1825) constituting a resource of commercial importance. To determinate the average density of the population in the catchment areas Guamutal, El Maiz and La Arenera, it was used an indirect method; it were sampled 11 locations with 81 m2 at febrary/2013 for a total area of 748 m2. Also there were done monthly samples to the capture during the capture season. The caves average density varied from 0,52 to 2,23 caves/m2, with an overall average of 1,43 caves/m2. The area most densely populated was La Arenera with 1,81 caves/m2 and the lower was Bolanio with 0,52 caves/m2. The average diameter of the caves was 10,3±0,34cm, 7,74±0,56cm and 5,59±0,30cm in El Maiz, La Arenera and Guamutal respectively. There is significant difference between the mean diameters. The presence of small diameters caves in Guamutal reinforces the hypothesis that this is the main area of recruitment. The crab average size decrease along the capture season. His capture has a “Free Access” scheme and crab is considered as intensely exploited. The percentage of specimens below the legal minimum size has been increased and therefor the average size has decreased. The crab presence is associated with gender mangrove, Laguncularia racemosa and Conocarpus erectus. In the fauna associated with C. guanhumi there were observed the hermit crabs (Eupagurus sp.), crocodiles (Crocodylus rhombifer) and wild dogs (Canis familiares).

Description: It was determined the biomass of pink shrimp Farfantepenaeus notialis present in the Gulf of Ana Maria during the period 1997-2010, by means of statistical analysis of catch per ages (SCA). The biomass increased from 2008 as a response to the increment in the recruitment, which showed its highest average annual values during the second semester of that year. The input of recruits (pre-adults) to the fishing area occurs by two main zones, in front of Ana Maria keys and in Santa Cruz Abajo, North of the southern portion of Doce Leguas keys. Fishing at the end of the year may cause an overfishing of the growth, thus affecting the available biomass for the following year.

Description: Aimed to know the biomass level of pink shrimp (Farfantepenaeus notialis) and the space-time variation of the population in the fishing area of EPIGRAN enterprise, the information of monthly research cruises was analyzed during years 2009, 2010 and 2011 (January). Size composition shows a mean size of 8.7 and 8.5 cm (Cuban length) with maximum sizes of 14.7 and 15.2 in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Taking into account the maxima values of gonadal maturation for areas, the Guacanayabo gulf shows that spawning takes place during the months of March to July. The recruitment confirm two stages during the year, the first one during January-February and the second during August-September, being noted that a recruitment advance may occur as observed in July, 2009. During the studied years, recruitment is mainly observed in the eastern area of Guacanayabo gulf, from the Boca del Cauto until Gua bay, including the Manzanillo keys, and may move to the west of Gua bay. Gulf of Guacanayabo shows a biomass in the order of 600 t, with maxima values during 2009, 2010 and 2011 occurring in the Zone III in February, April and January respectively. A biomass decrease is observed later due mainly as natural mortality takes place.
