Notes: Abstract Lifetimes of high spin states in the nucleus90Tc have been measured via the fusion evaporation reactions58Ni(36Ar,3pn)90Tc at 140 MeV and58Ni(35Cl,2pn)90Tc at 120 MeV beam energy. The OSIRIS spectrometer as well as a new neutron-γ-coincidence setup were used to measure lifetimes in the 10−12-10−9 s range by the recoil distance Doppler-shift method. By means ofγ-multiplicity and neutron-gated spectra fifteen lifetimes wered-educed. The experimental branching ratios and transition probabilities are compared to predictions of shell model calculations in a restricted π(p1/2), π(g9/2), ν(p1/2), and ν(g9/2) configuration space. In most cases the agreement with the calculations using the Gross-Frenkel parameters is striking but the results for several yrare states very sensitively depend on the residual interaction used.

Notes: Abstract Applying delayedγ- r.f. coincidences and generalized centroid-shift analysis, nanosecond isomers in some odd-A iodine isotopes are studied in-beam. The reactions106Cd(12C,p2n) and116,118Sn(6Li,3n) have been used. The following half-lives were determined:T 1/2(565 keV)=0.50±0.10 ns andT 1/2(837 keV) =0.90±0.20 ns in115I,T 1/2(687 keV)=5.50±0.50 ns andT 1/2(2418 keV)=4.0±0.50 ns in119I as well asT 1/2(812 keV)=0.35±0.20 ns andT 1/2(445 keV)〈0.10 ns in121I. A systematics of the absolute probabilities for the transitions deexciting theπg 9/2 9/2+ andπ 11/2 11/2 1 − band heads in115–125I is presented and discussed.

Notes: Abstract Lifetimes of 8 levels in73Se have been measured by the recoil distance Doppler shift technique via the reaction60Ni(16O, 2pn)73Se. Energies of negative and positive parity states as well asE 2 transition strengths are compared with theoretical values obtained from a symmetric rotor plus particle model and a triaxial rotor model.

Notes: Abstract The half-life of a 3− excited state in106Ag was measured as T1/2 (364.4 keV)=0.9±0.1 ns using the103Rh(α, n)106Ag reaction. The intramultiplet transition rate B(M1, 3−→2−) indicates that the configuration π(g9/2)0 −2π(p1/2)−1 vd5/2 can be assigned. A low-lying 3+ isomer, as known in108,110Ag, was not found in106Ag, what is explained by the raising energy of the vd3/2 shell with decreasing neutron number. For the 6− bandhead of a rotational-like structure T1/2 (765.2 keV)〈 0.2 ns was derived in contradiction to an earlier prediction (200 ns). Indirect evidence for a negative sign of the magnetic moment of105Ag (g.s.) is obtained.

    Notes: Abstract By means of the generalized centroid-shift method, the following half-lives were determined:T 1/2(3045 keV)=3.7±0.3 ns in113Sb using the reaction104Pd(12C,p2n) as well asT 1/2 (1322.8 keV)=3.5±0.3 ns,T 1/2(2779.8 keV) =0.50±0.15ns,T 1/2(2874.9 keV)〈0.2 ns andT 1/2(3072.9 keV)〈0.1 ns in117Sb using the116In(α, 2n) reaction. Three-quasiparticle configurations of the type πd 5/2ν(h11/2 d 3/2) in113,117Sb are found to dominate in the wave functions of the 19/2− states at 3045 and 2780 keV in113Sb and117Sb, respectively. TheB(E2, 19/2− → 15/2−) values in113–119Sb are discussed.

Notes: Abstract The mean lifetimes of the lower spin states of the superdeformed band in133Nd have been measured with the coincidence recoil distance method. The reaction used to populate the band was105Pd (32S, 2p2n)133Nd at a beam energy of 152 MeV, and the gamma-rays were detected with the POLYTESSA array. The differential decay curve method was used to analyse the data and transition quadrupole moments,Q 0, were extracted from the measured lifetimes. The results obtained from the three lowest transitions in the superdeformed band are:Q 0=6.3±0.9 eb (21+/2→17+/2),Q 0=6.7±1.1 eb (25+/2→21+/2) andQ 0〉5.0 eb (29+/2→25+/2). These results are consistent with previous results for the high spin members of the band, and are compared to theoretical calculations of total routhian surfaces. The calculation of reduced transition probabilities for the transitions that feed out of the band, allows the effect of hindrance due to K-forbiddenness to be investigated.

Notes: Abstract Lifetimes of high spin states in the threeA=89 isobars89Nb,89Mo and89Tc have been measured via the Recoil Distance Doppler Shift technique and the fusion evaporation reactions58Ni(35Cl,xnypzα) at 120 MeV beam energy. Reduced transition probabilities for about 50γ transitions were extracted. The experimental branching ratios in89Mo and reduced transition probabilities in all three isobars are compared with the predictions of the spherical shell model based on the restrictedπ(p 1/2),π(g 9/2), ν(p1/2),ν(g 9/2) configuration space with two different types of residual interaction.

Description / Table of Contents: Demonstration of the Existence of 2-Silapropane-2, 2-dithiolatesThe unstable title compounds M2[S2Si(CH3)2] with M = Li, Na, K have been prepared by reaction of Cl2Si(CH3)2 with the corresponding sulfide in tetrahydrofurane. The existence of the dithiolates has been demonstrated by means of spectroscopic and chemical methods. They react with alkyl halides forming 2, 2-bis(alkylthio)-2-silapropanes. With carbon disulfide no reaction occurs. The reaction between Cl2Si(CH3)2 and H2S in the presence of pyridine produces at -78°C also unstable 2-silapropane-2, 2-dithiol (HS)2Si(CH3)2.
