The properties of tin tetrachloride as an ionising solvent are investigated. Only a limited number of inorganic compounds are soluble in SnCl4. Pure SnCl4 has a very small self-conductivity. Es wird die Frage untersucht, ob Zinntetrachlorid ein ionisierendes Lösungsmittel ist. Die Anzahl der in SnCl4 löslichen anorganischen Substanzen ist beschränkt. Die Eigenleitfähigkeit des reinen SnCl4 ist sehr gering. Auch die spezifischen und molekularen Leitfähigkeiten der Lösungen sind relativ klein.Aus konduktometrischen Titrationen ergibt sich folgende Klassifikation der löslichen, schwachen Elektrolyte in SnCl4: .
