Description / Table of Contents:
The ammonolysis of the following organotin compounds has been investigated in liq. NH3 in the presence of KNH2: (C6H11)4-nSn(C6H5)n (A) (0 ≤ n ≤ 3), Sn(CH=CH2)4 (B), Sn(CH2C6H5)4 (C) and Sn(CnH2n+1)4 (D) (n = 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12). The ammonolysis takes place the easier, the greater the anionic stability of the organic group attached to the tin atom will be. (A) reacts by splitting off only the phenyl group as benzene, whereas the bond Sn—C6H11 will not be attacked. B and C undergoe a complete ammonolysis. In the sequence of D the easiness of ammonolytic cleavage desreases with increasing n. The ammonolysis of B, C and D (n = 1 to 8; n = 12: no reaction) results in the formation of K2[Sn(NH2)6]. From A with n = 1 results (C6H11)3Sn—NH—Sn(C6H11)3, from A (n = 2) {K2[HN(C6H11)2Sn—NH—Sn(C6H11)2NH]}x, and from A (n = 3) K2[C6H11Sn(NH2)5].
Notes:
