Die Kinetik des thermischen Zerfalls von 2,2′-Azo-bis-(2-methyl-5-hydroxy-valeronitril) wurde in Isobutylmethylketon, 1,4-Dioxan und Cyclohexanon bei 61, 71 und 81°C UV-spektroskopisch untersucht. Die Zerfallskinetik des mit Phenylisocyanat umgesetzten Azoinitiators in Isobutylmethylketon wurde ebenfalls bestimmt. Für beide Initiatoren wurden die Arrhenius-Parameter berechnet.

The thermal decomposition kinetics of 2,2′-azo-bis-(2-methyl-5-hydroxy-valeronitrile) was studied in siobutyl methyl ketone, 1,4-dioxane and cyclohexanone at 61, 71, and 81°C by applying ultraviolet absorption technique. The thermal decomposition of the phenyl isocyanate capped product of this azo-compound was also studied in isobutyl methyl ketone at the same three temperatures. The overall rate expressions for decomposition of these azo-initiators in various solvents are reported.
