Using chlorpheniramine-silicotungstate or chlorpheniramine- phosphotungstate ion-pair complexes as active materials and graphite rods as substrates, all-solid-state chlorpheniramine ion-selective electrodes were prepared. The effects of various factors on the performance of these electrodes were studied in detail. The electrodes exhibited a Nernstian range from 10-2-10-5 M, with a slope of 58 mv/decade, and were much better than the previously reported PVC membrane chlorpheniramine ion-selective electrodes Satisfactory results were obtained by using the prepared electrode to analyze chlorpheniramine containing samples.
