Barium salts react with SbF3, solutions to give the slightly soluble Ba[SbF5]; in the case of Ba carbonate and hydroxide, also antimony oxide and oxide fluoride, respectively, are precipitated.Nickel carbonate gives with SbF3 solutions an easily soluble tetrafluoroantimonate(III) Ni[SbF4]2 · 6 H2O, crystallizing as emerald-green prisms of hexagonal habitus. With CaCl2, only the precipitation of antimony oxide-containing CaF2, was observed.Salts of the acid H[SbF3OH] could not be obtained in this manner.

Bariumsalze bilden in SbF3-Lösungen schwerlösliches Ba[SbF5]; mit Bariumcarbonat und -hydroxid fallen daneben Antimonoxid bzw. -oxidfluorid aus.Nickelcarbonat ergibt ein leicht lösliches, in smaragdgrünen, sechsseitigen Säulen kristallisierendes Fluoroantimonat Ni[SbF4]2 · 6 H2O; als Nebenprodukt wird oftmals schwer lösliches Nickelfluorid gebildet. Mit CaCl2 fällt ausschließlich antimonoxidhaltiges CaF2, aus. Salze der von Schiemann(2) vermuteten Säure H[SbF3OH] konnten nicht gefunden werden, was aber ihr Vorkommen nicht ausschließt.
