Description: The recent development and establishment of GNSS networks in Italy make it possible to define an increasingly detailed spatial and temporal resolution of the ongoing crustal deformation and to visualize the complex interplay between different orogens in the Africa-Eurasia collision zone. We analyzed all the available GPS raw data in the time span 1998-2013 and constructed time series of GNSS stations referenced to a common reference frame and finally produced the tectonic velocity field providing an updated detailed picture of the kinematics (velocity map) and deformation pattern (strain rate map) of the Italian area.

Description: The project ”Geosciences in Iberia: Integrated stud ies of topography and 4-D evolution Topo-Iberia” (Ref.CSD2006-00041) is supported by the Spanish Min istry for the Economy and Competitiveness. Its objective is to understand the interactions in the Iberian Peninsula (SW Europe) between deep, shallow and atmospheric processes, through a multidisciplin ary approach linking Geology, geophysics and Geodesy. As part of this project a network of 26 CG PS (continuous GPS) stations, covering the Spanish part of the Iberian Peninsula (22 stations) and Morocco (4 stations) was established in 2008 t o complement other GPS networks already deployed by d ifferent Institutions, EPN (EUREF Permanent Network), IGS (InternationalGNSS Service) and regio nal governmental agencies to monitor crustal deformation due to Nubia and Eurasian tectonic plat es. Data analysis is performed at three different analysis centres: Real Instituto y Observatorio de la Armada (ROA), University of Barcelona (UB) and University of Jaen (UJA). The coordinate time serie s and the velocity field from 2008-2013 computed at UJA analysis centre are presented in this paper. The estimated velocities show the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula is a boundary area between two pl ates accommodating the relative movements between the Eurasian and Nubia plates.
