    Description: This paper proposes a single-loop repetitive voltage control strategy which incorporates the active damping control feature for single-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS) applications. The proposed method reduces the effect of the LC resonant peak, which limits the control bandwidth and deteriorates the stability of the entire control loop by effectively increasing the damping component. Due to the increased stability margin, a repetitive controller working together with a proportional-resonant (PR) controller can be easily adopted. Moreover, the voltage error is minimized even under severe non-linear load conditions. It is confirmed that the proposed single-loop controller achieves excellent and stable voltage regulation performance by evaluating the entire loop-gain of the system and the output impedance. Both the simulation and the experimental results for a 1.5 kW UPS inverter show agree well with the analyses, and the excellence of the proposed method has been verified.

    Description: In the case of a long-stator linear drive, unlike rotative drives for which speed or position sensors are a single unit attached to the shaft, these sensors extend along the guideway. The position signals transmitted from a maglev vehicle cannot meet the need of the real-time propulsion control in the on-ground inverter power substations. In this paper the design of the propulsion inverter control system with a position estimator for driving a long-stator synchronous motor in a high-speed maglev train is proposed. The experiments have been carried out at the 150 m long guideway at the O-song test track. To investigate the performance of the position estimator, the propulsion control system with, and without, the position estimator are compared. The result confirms that the proposed strategy can meet the dynamic property needs of the propulsion inverter control system for driving long-stator linear synchronous motors.

The proposed SST consists of 10 modules where each individual module contains a unidirectional three-level power factor correction (PFC) converter for the active-front-end (AFE) stage and an LLC resonant converter for the isolated DC-DC stage. The operating principles of the converters are analyzed and the modulation and the control schemes for the entire module are described in detail. The DC-link voltage imbalance is also less than other SST topologies due to the low number of uncontrollable switching states. In order to simplify the control of the power stage, a modulation strategy for the AFE stage is proposed, and the modulation frequency of the LLC converter is also fixed. In addition, a compensation algorithm is suggested to eliminate the current measurement offset in the AFE stage. The proposed SST achieves the unity power factor at the input AC current regardless of the reactive or nonlinear load and a low voltage regulation at the AC output. In order to verify the effectiveness of the SST, the 13.2 kV/10 kV SST prototype is built and tested. Both the simulation and the experimental results under actual 13.2 kV line show the excellent performance of the proposed SST scheme.
