Description: A high positive magnetoresistance (MR), 78%, is observed at 2 K on the ab plane of the diamagnetic RuSb2+ semiconductor. On the ac plane, MR is 44% at 2 K, and about 7% at 300 K. MR at different temperatures do not follow the Kohler’s rule. It suggests that the multiband effect plays a role on the carrier transportation. RuSb2+ is a semiconductor with both positive and negative carriers. The quantum interference effect with the weak localization correction lies behind the high positive MR at low temperature. Judged from the ultraviolet–visible spectra, it has a direct band gap of 1.29 eV. The valence band is 0.39 eV below the Fermi energy. The schematic energy band structure is proposed based on experimental results.

Description: Background: A series of reforms were implemented to improve the quality of primary care services in China. This study aims to assess patients’ perceived quality of primary healthcare between rural and urban community health centers in Guangdong. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted from July to December 2015 in Guangdong. We surveyed 1010 respondents who visited either community health centers/stations (CHCs/CHSs) in urban areas or township health centers/rural health stations (THCs/RHSs) in rural areas. A validated Chinese version of the Primary Care Assessment Tool-Adult Short Version (PCAT-AS), representing ten primary care domains, was used to collect information on patients’ primary care experiences. A t-test was used for comparison on domain scores and total scores between patients from CHCs/CHSs and THCs/RHSs. An analysis of covariance was employed to compare the adjusted PCAT domain scores and total scores. Multilevel models were used to explore factors associated with PCAT total scores. Results: Overall, patients reported a lower level of experience of community orientation and family centeredness compared to other primary care domains. Patients from THCs/RHSs settings in the rural area reported better primary care experience in four domains, including first contact, accessibility, ongoing care, and community orientation. Higher education background and those with a chronic disease were associated with better primary care experience, after controlling for confounding factors. Patients who preferred primary care institutions when getting sick or used health services more frequently reported better primary care experiences. Conclusion: Continued efforts are needed to strengthen primary care performances, particularly in a community orientation and family centeredness. Primary care delivery in CHCs/CHSs settings should be improved in four domains, including first contact, accessibility, ongoing care, and community orientation.

Description: The recent development of the mobile Internet and the rise of social media have significantly enriched the way people access information. Accurate modeling of the probability of information propagation between users is essential for studying information dissemination issues in social networks. As the dissemination of information is inseparable from the interactions between users, the probability of propagation can be characterized by such interactions. In general, there are differences in the dissemination modes of information that carry different topics in a real social network. Using these factors, we propose a method (TMIVM) to measure the mutual influence between users at the topic level. The method associates two vectorization parameters for each user—an influence vector and a susceptibility vector—where the dimensions of the vector represent different topic categories. The magnitude of the mutual influence between users on different topics can be obtained by the product of the corresponding elements of the vectors. Specifically, in this article, we fit a social network historical information cascade data through Survival Analysis to learn the parameters of the influence and susceptibility vectors. The experimental results on a synthetic data set and a real Microblog data set show that this method better measures the propagation probability and information cascade predictions compared to other methods.

Description: High precision measurement of acceleration levels is required to allow active control for vibration isolation platforms. It is necessary to propose an accelerometer configuration measurement model that yields such a high measuring precision. In this paper, an accelerometer configuration to improve measurement accuracy is proposed. The corresponding calculation formulas of the angular acceleration were derived through theoretical analysis. A method is presented to minimize angular acceleration noise based on analysis of the root mean square noise of the angular acceleration. Moreover, the influence of installation position errors and accelerometer orientation errors on the calculation precision of the angular acceleration is studied. Comparisons of the output differences between the proposed configuration and the previous planar triangle configuration under the same installation errors are conducted by simulation. The simulation results show that installation errors have a relatively small impact on the calculation accuracy of the proposed configuration. To further verify the high calculation precision of the proposed configuration, experiments are carried out for both the proposed configuration and the planar triangle configuration. On the basis of the results of simulations and experiments, it can be concluded that the proposed configuration has higher angular acceleration calculation precision and can be applied to different platforms.

Description: A refractive index sensor based on metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguides coupled double rectangular cavities is proposed and investigated numerically using the finite element method (FEM). The transmission properties and refractive index sensitivity of various configurations of the sensor are systematically investigated. An asymmetric Fano resonance lineshape is observed in the transmission spectra of the sensor, which is induced by the interference between a broad resonance mode in one rectangular and a narrow one in the other. The effect of various structural parameters on the Fano resonance and the refractive index sensitivity of the system based on Fano resonance is investigated. The proposed plasmonic refractive index sensor shows a maximum sensitivity of 596 nm/RIU.

Description: This study evaluated the effectiveness of pressure-assisted ozonation (PAO) in Chlorella vulgaris (C. vulgaris) cell disruption, and compared the disruption result with that of the ultrasonication (US) by using four quantification indicators: cell counting, ultra violet (UV) absorbance, turbidity and visible light absorbance. It was found that under the condition of 0.8 MPa and 80 cycles, PAO treatment achieved cell rupture of 80.3%, with the power of 1080 W and treatment time of 60 min, US achieved cell rupture of 83.8%. Cell counting was a reliable indicator and applicable to both PAO and US treatments. Turbidity and visible light absorbance gave similar results and featured as the simplest operation. UV absorbance reflected the metabolite release due to cell breakage; however, it was less reproducible when it was applied to quantify the cell rupture by PAO. Its trend indicated that during cell disruption metabolite degradation occurred, especially after significant rupture in the case of excessive PAO treatment. The cellular morphology of C. vulgaris cells during PAO and US treatments was investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) which certified that the cells damage was caused by both physical and chemical attack.

Description: Unreasonable land use planning can reduce ecosystem service value and result in unsustainable land use. In this paper, the changes of ecosystem service value were investigated by using the GIS and dynamic simulation model of land use in Miyun of Beijing, China, based on the land use at four time points including 1991, 2006, 2021 and one improved scenario, respectively. The results showed the total ecosystem service value of Miyun was about 2968.34 million Yuan in 1991, 3304.72 million Yuan in 2006, 3106.48 million Yuan in 2021, and 3759.77 million Yuan in the improved scenario. In terms of ecosystem service function, the functions of water supply and soil formation and retention accounted for the largest proportion, which were 19.99% and 14.58% respectively; whereas the functions of food supply and recreation and culture were only 1.83% and 5.99%, respectively. Coefficients of sensitivity for forest cover, water bodies and arable land were relatively large, which were 0.73, 0.28 and 0.14, respectively. The contribution factors of total ecosystem service value with the land use change during different periods were mainly the unused land to forest cover and arable land, which respectively accounted for more than 63% and 21% of the contribution rate. These results suggested that sustainable land use planning should be undertaken with emphasis on vegetation restoration and protection of water bodies.

Description: A proper model of Web service non-functional properties is the key foundation to the evaluation of non-functional properties of Adaptive Service Based Software (ASBS) systems. As the environment in which a Web service is deployed may keep changing, environmental factors would affect the non-functional properties of a Web service a lot. However, available non-functional property models usually ignore the impact of environmental factors, leading to insufficient modeling power of non-functional properties, limited effect of system wide non-functional property evaluation based on these models, and the inability to support environment states oriented specifications of ASBS. This paper propose an environment states oriented Web service non-functional property model. By considering the differences of a non-functional property under different environment states, environment states of a Web service is analyzed using a Dirichlet process based method. With such a foundation, an environment states oriented Web service non-functional property model is introduced, together with the parameter estimation methods based on historical monitor data. Experiment results have shown that compared to the evaluated methods, our model could generate data that are much close to real monitored data.

Description: Remote Sensing, Vol. 10, Pages 1334: Land-Use Carbon Emissions Estimation for the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration Using 1994–2016 Landsat Image Data Remote Sensing doi: 10.3390/rs10091334 Authors: Yifan Cui Long Li Longqian Chen Yu Zhang Liang Cheng Xisheng Zhou Xiaoyan Yang The amount and growth rate of carbon emissions have been accelerated on a global scale since the industrial revolution (1800), especially in recent decades. This has resulted in a significant influence on the natural environment and human societies. Therefore, carbon emission reduction receives continuously increasing public attention and has long been under debate. In this study, we made use of the land-use specific carbon emission coefficients from previous studies and estimated the land-use carbon emissions and carbon intensities of the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration (YRDUA)—which consists of 26 eastern Chinese cities—from Landsat image data and socio-economic statistics in 1995, 2005, and 2015. In addition, spatial autocorrelation models including both global and local Moran’s I were used to analyze the spatial autocorrelation of carbon emissions and carbon intensities. It was found that (1) the YRDUA witnessed a rapidly increasing trend for net carbon emissions and a decreasing trend for carbon intensity over the two decades; (2) the spatial differences in carbon intensity had gradually narrowed, but were large in carbon emissions and had gradually increased; and (3) the carbon emissions in 2005 and 2015 had significant spatial autocorrelations. We concluded that (1) from 1995 to 2015 in the YRDUA, carbon emissions were large for the cities along the Yangtze River and carbon intensities were high for Anhui province’s resource-based cities, while both carbon emissions and carbon intensities were small for Zhejiang province’s cities; (2) over two decades, the increase in carbon emissions from urban land was approximately twice the increase in urban land area. Our study can provide useful insights into the assignment of carbon reduction tasks within the YRDUA.
