Notes: Abstract Spectral and luminescent properties of mixed-ligand palladium(II) complexes—[PdBhq(μ-Cl)]2, [PdBhqEn]ClO4, and [PdBhqBpy]ClO4, where Bhq stands for the 7,8-benzoquinoline ion—were studied. The absorption spectra of these complexes in the 25000–40000-cm− range were found to have a number of spin-allowed transitions of the 1(π-π*) type involving orbitals of the 7,8-benzoquinoline ligand. The luminescent characteristics of these compounds in a glass-forming matrix at 77 K are primarily determined by the participation of the 3(π-π*) states of the 7,8-benzoquinoline ligand.

Notes: Abstract We present a detailed description of semileptonic decays of baryonsΛ b 0 →Λ c + and∑ b + →∑ C ++ in the framework of the quark confinement model, which is a relativistic quark model based on definite asumptions about hadronization and confinement of light quarks. Weak form factors, decay rates and differential distributions of semileptonic decaysΛ b 0 →Λ c + and∑ b + →∑ c ++ are calculated. The heavy quark limitm Q →∞ (Isgur-Wise symmetry) is also examined.

Notes: Abstract K L(S) 0 →π0ℓ+ℓ−. The rare decaysK L(S) 0 →π0ℓ+ℓ−(ℓ=e or μ) are investigated in the Quark Confinement Model (QCM), a relativistic quark model, based on some assumptions about hadronization and quark confinement. Using the effective electroweak Lagrangian (with QCD corrections), proposed by Gilman and Wise, the matrix elements of kaon transitions to a pion and lepton pair are calculated. The obtained results for the decay widths are in agreement with the experimental data for upper limits on branching ratios and the theoretical predictions calculated by effective chiral Lagrangian method.

Notes: Abstract Baryons as relativistic three-quark states are investigated in the quark confinement model (QCM), a relativistic quark model based on some assumptions about hadronization and quark confinement. In the framework of the quark-diquark approximation of the three-quark structure of baryons, the main characteristics of light (noncharmed) baryons are calculated. The obtained results agree with experimental data. Predictions are also given for semileptonic decay of charmed baryons and differential production cross-sections in quasielastic neutrino scattering of charmed baryons.

Notes: Conclusions 1. Observations of seepage, structure deformation, and reconfiguration of the channel, testify to the fact that the XXII Congress KPSS Volga HES, constructed on sandy siltstone rock, is functioning normally. 2. Omission of quick-lowering gates in front of the turbines, and of individual stop gates in the HES forebay, has not caused complications in operation. 3. The rubber seals between the concrete slabs, installed instead of filters beneath the concrete protective covering on the earth dam slopes, are functioning well. 4. Multi-unit HES should be equipped with reliable totalizing instruments for computing flow through the turbines.

Notes: Conclusions 1. Turbine runner chambers manufactured from Mark St. 30 silicon steel are not cavitation-resistant, their repair requiring greater expenditure of labor and more frequent shut-down of the turbine. 2. Fish elevators of the double-shaft sluice type provide passage through the hydrocomplex on the average of 20–25 thousand fish of the sturgeon species per year. However, the effectiveness of this system has been insufficiently studied up to the present. 3. Operating experience has confirmed the reliability of reinforced-concrete gates for deep spillways and the advisability of their wider use. 4. Operating experience with improved hydrounits confirmed the advisability of new design solutions for separate assemblies and the high effectiveness of the forced air method of cooling the hydrogenerator.

Notes: Abstract. We calculate the heavy-to-light form factors in a relativistic quark model with infrared heavy-quark propagators. Their -dependence in the physical region is defined by two parameters: the “infrared” parameter characterizing the infrared behaviour of the heavy quark and the mass difference of the heavy meson and the heavy quark . It is found that the values of the and form factors at are in excellent agreement with the available experimental data and other approaches whereas for transitions these values are found to be larger than those of several other models. The obtained form factors are used to calculate the widths of the semileptonic decays of and mesons. A comparison of our results with available experimental data and other approaches is presented.

Notes: Abstract Coronae and major shield structures are two populations of comparable size endogenous venusian features whose origin was proposed to be genetically related as a response on the progressive (the shields) and regressive (coronae) stages of the supposed hot spot activity. A comparison of these features by their areas, basal altitudes and character of areal distribution shows their distinctive differences. It implies that either the major shields and coronae are not genetically related or the hypothesis of their relationship must involve some fundamental changes in the tectonic-volcanic environments in the appropriate period of the geological history of Venus.

Notes: Abstract We study the energy spectrum and some properties of various quadrupole centers (magnetic impurities or magnetic impurity complexes that are symmetric with respect to the magnetic sublattices of the antiferromagnet). We allow for the effect of spin-phonon coupling on the quadrupole splitting parameter and show that such coupling can lead to a considerable decrease in the value of this parameter and even change its sign. We investigate the behavior of quadrupole centers with an orbitally degenerate ground state and of quadrupole impurity complexes formed by mixed-valence ions. We demonstrate that such centers may greatly affect the resonant, magnetic, and thermodynamic properties of antiferromagnets. Finally, we analyze the existing experimental data and show that several new effects can be observed in systems with such centers (in particular, a magnetic analog of the Jahn-Teller effect and a strong magnetoelectric effect).

Notes: Abstract The nucleon and the Δ-isobar are investigated as three-quark systems in the quark-confinement model (QCM). This model is based on two hypotheses. First, quark confinement is accomplished through averaging over some vacuum gluon fields which are assumed to provide the confinement of any colour states. Second, hadrons are treated as collective colourless excitations of quark-gluon interactions. The QCM is applied to low-energy baryon physics. The nucleon magnetic moments and electromagnetic radii, the ratioG A /G V , and the decay width for Δ →pπ are calculated. The behaviour of the electromagnetic and strong mesonnucleon (meson-isobar) form factors is determined for space-like momentum transfers. The results are compared with experimental data for the electromagnetic form factors and phenomenological strong form factors as used in the Bonn potential.
