    Beschreibung: Sophora alopecuroides residue (SAP), a kind of traditional Chinese herbal medicine residue, was developed in an alternative biosorbent for the removal Cu 2+ and Pb 2+ in simulated wastewater. The morphology and surface texture of SAP were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, which showed a loose and porous structure. The biosorption experiments of Cu 2+ and Pb 2+ onto SAP were investigated by using batch techniques. High biosorption percentage appeared at pH values of 4.5-6.0. The experimental data followed the second-order kinetic model well. Equilibrium fit with the Langmuir isotherm model well. The maximum biosorption capacity of an adsorbent at 25 °C was respectively 60.6 mg/g Cu 2+ and 128.1 mg/g Pb 2+ . The findings of the present study show that SAP is an attractive and effective biosorbent for Cu 2+ and Pb 2+ .

    Beschreibung: ZnO varistors are widely used for the protection of electronic and electrical equipment against transient surges. ZnO–V 2 O 5 based varistor system is a potential candidate which can co-fire with Ag, and avoids the use of expensive Pa and Pt as the inner electrode in making multilayer chip varistors. However, the study of ZnO–V 2 O 5 -based ceramics is still in the initial stage for practical applications. The current work reports the effects of Ta 2 O 5 on the electrical properties of ZnO-V 2 O 5 based varistor ceramics. It shows that within 850-925°C experimental sintering temperature, the addition of Ta 2 O 5 (0.05-0.20 mol%) may not improve the nonlinear coefficient but reduces the breakdown field of ZnO–V 2 O 5 varistor ceramics.

    Beschreibung: The combination of traditional coal-fired power plant and solar aided system is analysed in this paper based on a case study of a typical 330MW subcritical power unit. Three different types of combination schemes are proposed and calculated with detailed modelling. It is found that the upper limit of solar aided system capacity would be limited by SCR gas temperature, reheat temperature etc. which could vary between 12.5-35MW. The thermoeconomic performance increase in the sequence of preheat, main steam generation, reheat based on the average heat transfer temperature. Under different load, the coal consumption rate would decrease by about 5t/h. Considering the effect of DNI and actual load change curve, coal rate would decrease by 2.13% with solar aided system.

    Beschreibung: The results of researches of physicochemical action on aggregate properties of nanodiamond are presented. The kinetics of aggregation of nanodiamond powder was studied as a function of time, temperature, and pH of the solution. The effect of the sp2–sp3 hybridization ratio of carbon in nanodiamond powders on their aggregation was studied. It is shown that the presence of non-diamond carbon in detonation synthesis nanodiamond powders leads to the increase of the mean diameters of particles, i.e., their agglomeration. The theoretical justification of the aggregation mechanism is proposed. It is shown that it is possible to control aggregative properties of nanodiamond powders by physicochemical influences, e.g., gas-phase thermal treatment to reduce the size of agglomerates and to create a well-developed reconstructed surface of diamond particles with a low content of functional groups on their surface.
