Description: Nitrogen is a key factor for plant photosynthesis, ecosystem productivity and leaf respiration. Under the condition of nitrogen deficiency, the crop shows the nitrogen deficiency symptoms in the bottom leaves, while excessive nitrogen will affect the upper layer leaves first. Thus, timely measurement of vertical distribution of foliage nitrogen content is critical for growth diagnosis, crop management and reducing environmental impact. This study presents a method using bi-directional reflectance difference function (BRDF) data to invert foliage nitrogen vertical distribution. We developed upper-layer nitrogen inversion index (ULNI), middle-layer nitrogen inversion index (MLNI) and bottom-layer nitrogen inversion index (BLNI) to reflect foliage nitrogen inversion at upper layer, middle layer and bottom layer, respectively. Both ULNI and MLNI were made by the value of the ratio of Modified Chlorophyll Absorption Ration Index to the second Modified Triangular Vegetation Index (MCA...

Description: Dynamic robustness and stability control is a requirement for self-driving of autonomous vehicle. Longitudinal control method of autonomous is a key technique which has drawn the attention of industry and academe. In this paper, we present a longitudinal control algorithm based on cloud model for Mengshi autonomous vehicle to ensure the dynamic stability and tracking performance of Mengshi autonomous vehicle. An experiments is applied to test the implementation of the longitudinal control algorithm. Empirical results show that if the longitudinal control algorithm based Gauss cloud model are applied to calculate the acceleration, and the vehicles drive at different speeds, a stable longitudinal control effect is achieved.

Description: Simulations are now widely used in the field of roll forming because of their convenience. Simulations provide a low cost, secure and fast analysis tool. Flexible roll forming provides the desired shapes with a one time forming process. For roll forming, the velocity of the sheet and friction are important factors to attain an ideal shape. Because it is a complicated process, simulations provide a better understanding of the roll forming process. Simulations were peformed using ABAQUS software linked to elastic-plastic modules which we developed taking into account of interactions between these fields [1]. The application of this method makes it possible to highlight the strain-stress and mechanical behaviour laws and the spring-back. Thus, the flexible roll forming and bending process can bewell described by the simulation software and guide the actual machine.

Description: Mesoporous akaganeite with large and adjustable pore size was synthesized through a co-template method, which was achieved by the combined interaction between PEG2000 and alkyl amines with different lengths of the straight carbon chain. The characterized results indicate that the synthesized samples show comparatively narrow BJH pore size distributions and centered at 14.3 nm when PEG and HEPA was used, and it could be enlarged to 16.8 and 19.4 nm respectively through changing the alkyl amines to DDA and HDA. Meanwhile, all the synthesized akaganeite possess relativity high specific surface area ranging from 183 to 281 m 2 /g and high total pore volume of 0.98 to 1.5 cm 3 /g. A possible mechanism leading to the pore size changing was also proposed.

Description: A preparation technology of ultra-thin Carbon-fiber paper is reported. Carbon fiber distribution homogeneity has a great influence on the properties of ultra-thin Carbon-fiber paper. In this paper, a self-developed homogeneity analysis system is introduced to assist users to evaluate the distribution homogeneity of Carbon fiber among two or more two-value images of carbon-fiber paper. A relative-uniformity factor W/H is introduced. The experimental results show that the smaller the W/H factor, the higher uniformity of the distribution of Carbon fiber is. The new uniformity-evaluation method provides a practical and reliable tool for analyzing homogeneity of materials.

Description: Tobacco stem based modified porous materials were prepared by a combined methods of fermentation, microwave drying, anulation, semi-carbonization and modification, in which the residue of tobacco stem was used as raw material, and the KOH was used as modifier. The structural characteristics and properties of the porous materials were characterized by the scanning electron microscopy, specific surface areas, pore analyzer and infrared analyzer. The adsorption isotherm model, the adsorption kinetics analysis, the adsorption thermodynamics of phenol solution were analyzed. The results showed that: the excellent produced conditions for the porous materials were as follows: The surface of the porous materials modified by the KOH was typical porous structure, which mainly based on a large number of cavities and pores. The material had higher specific surface areas and pore volumes. The porous materials possesses more abundant functional groups, such as -OH, -CH and other functional gr...

Description: Vegetation biomass and soil organic carbon (SOC) pools for the three representative forest types, i.e. conifer forest (CF), mixed conifer and broad-leaf forest (CBF), evergreen broad-leaf forest (EBF) in South China were investigated. We found that SOC stock of the three chief forest ranged from 55.54 to 151.16 MgC·ha -1 , and it increased with increasing vegetation biomass under the same type forest within 100cm depth. The organic carbon contents at an equivalent level of forest maturity tended to be in the following decreasing order: EBF 〉 CBF 〉 CF, various active organic carbon (AOC) fractions in the 0-20cm topsoil layer tended to be in the following decreasing order: light fraction carbon (LFC) ≈ particulate organic carbon (POC) 〉 easily oxidisable carbon (EOC) 〉 microbial biomass carbon (MBC) 〉 water-soluble carbon (WSC). At an equivalent level of forest maturity, there was a trend that each of these five AOC fractions increased from CF to CBF to the...
