Description: The ligands exchange process on gold nanoparticles (GNPs) was proceeded by using hydrophobic group (PPh 3 ) and hydrophilic group (THPO) in acetone solution. The FTIR and XPS results demonstrated that part of THPO was replaced by PPh 3 which was dissolved in polar solution (acetone); the results were in accordance with the electrochemical analysis where the differential capacity decreased with increasing exchange time. After 12 h, the exchange process terminated and the final ratio of PPh 3 and THPO was about 1.4: 1. This ratio remained unchanged although the PPh 3 and THPO modified GNPs re-dispersed in the PPh 3 acetone solution demonstrating the stable adsorption of both ligands after exchanging for 12 h. The TEM images showed that the gold nanoparticles were self-assembled from scattered to arranged morphology due to the existence of hydrophilic and hydrophobic ligands and led to Janus gold nanoparticles.

Description: Coatings have been widely used in engineering and decoration to protect components and products and enhance their life span. Nickel (Ni) is one of the most important hard coatings. Improvement in its tribological and mechanical properties would greatly enhance its use in industry. Nanocomposite coatings of metals with various reinforced nanoparticles have been developed in last few decades. Titania (TiO 2 ) exhibit excellent mechanical properties. It is believed that TiO 2 incorporation in Ni matrix will improve the properties of Ni coatings significantly. The main purpose of the current work is to investigate the mechanical and anti-corrosion properties of the electroplated nickel nanocomposite with a small percentage of TiO 2 . The surface morphology of nanocomposite coating was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The hardness of the nanocoating was carried out using micromaterials nanoplatform. The sliding wear rate of the coating ...

Description: In order to analyze the vortex motion in the flow channel of the hydraulic turbine impeller during the gas volume fraction change. Now, the pump with a specific speed of 55.7 is chosen as hydraulic turbine. On the basis of considering the gas compressibility, to take numerical calculation on the model under different flow rates and different gas volume fraction, to analyze the influence of gas volume fraction on vortex motion law in the impeller flow channel. Findings: When the flow rate is small, the relative velocity distribution in the impeller flow channel is uneven, the velocity field is chaotic, and there are obvious vortices, with the increase of the gas volume fraction, the vortices in the impeller flow channel gradually move to the inlet direction of the blade; With the increase of the flow rate, the flow in the channel of the hydraulic turbine impeller is unstable. Both the pressure surface and the suction surface of the blade appear vortices, the vortex region in the ...

Description: In order to research the regular pattern of the vortex within the oil-gas multiphase pump with the gas volume fraction changes, the standard K-epsilon turbulence model is selected, the gas-liquid two-phase flow field within the multiphase pump is calculated by the CFD software under the different gas volume fraction, the regular pattern of the vortex motion within the multiphase pump is analyzed under the different gas volume fraction. The results show that, from the impeller hub to the rim, the vortex in the guide vane is gradually become smaller, the vortex within the impeller is gradually obvious, and with the increase of the gas volume fraction, the flow separation, the backflow and the vortex phenomenon within the impeller and the guide vane are gradually increased. It is also found that the flow separation has a greater influence on the turbulent dissipation within the whole flow field, that is, the more serious the area of off flow, the greater the energy loss. The result...

Description: In order to reduce the phase separation, air plug and turbulence vortex in the multiphase pump. The two-fluid model and the standard k- ε turbulence model are selected, the distribution regularity of gas phase volume within the multiphase pump is researched using the CFD software about air-liquid two-phase under the different working conditions. The results of the study showed that the gas phase gathers at the rim when the gas-liquid two-phase enter into the impeller inlet, and the gas phase is gradually increased at the rim with the increase of the flow rate, the gas is concentrated in the hub at the second half of the impeller, and the most serious aggregation is the small flow rate condition. When the flow is constant, the gas obviously increases in the guide vane hub with the increase of the gas volume fraction. With the increase of the gas volume fraction, the uniformity of the gas phase in the circumferential direction is deteriorated in the inlet and the middle of impelle...

Description: This study proposes a multi-stage travelling-wave thermoacoustically refrigeration system (TAD-RS) operating at liquefied natural gas temperature, which consists of two thermoacoustic engines (TAE) and one thermoacoustic refrigerator (TAR) in a closed-loop configuration. Three thermoacoustic units connect each other through a resonance tube of small cross-sectional area, achieving “self-matching” for efficient thermoacoustic conversion. Based on the linear thermoacoustic theory, a model of the proposed system has been built by using DeltaEC program to show the acoustic field characteristics and performance. It is shown that with pressurized 5 MPa helium as working gas, the TAEs are able to build a stable and strong acoustic field with a frequency of about 85 Hz. When hot end temperature reaches 923 K, this system can provide about 1410 W cooling power at 110 K with an overall exergy efficiency of 15.5%. This study indicates a great application prospect of TAD-RS in the field of ...

Description: The adsorption kinetics process of hydrophobic ligand (triphenylphosphine, PPh 3 ) and hydrophilic ligand (tris(hydroxymethyl)phosphine oxide, THPO) on the surface of gold electrode were estimated by using electrical double layer capacitance (EDLC). Results showed that the adsorption process of both ligands included fast and slow adsorption processes, and the fast adsorption process could fit the first order kinetic equation of Langmuir adsorption isotherm. During the slow adsorption process, the surface coverage (θ) of PPh 3 was higher than that of THPO due to the larger adsorption kinetic constant of PPh 3 than that of THPO, which implied that PPh 3 could replace THPO on the gold electrode. The exchange process of both ligands on the surface of gold electrode proved that PPh 3 take the place of THPO by testing the variation of EDLC which promote the preparation of Janus gold, and the theoretic simulation explained the reason of ...

Description: Coordinated mining of coal and water resources in arid and semiarid regions has traditionally become a focus issue. The research takes Energy and Chemical Base in Northern Shaanxi as an example, and conducts statistical analysis on coal yield and drainage volume from several large-scale mines in the mining area. Meanwhile, research determines average water volume per ton coal, and calculates four typical years’ drainage volume in different mining intensity. Then during mining drainage, with the combination of precipitation observation data in recent two decades and water level data from observation well, the calculation of groundwater table, precipitation infiltration recharge, and evaporation capacity are performed. Moreover, the research analyzes the transforming relationship between surface water, mine water, and groundwater. The result shows that the main reason for reduction of water resources quantity and transforming relationship between surface water, groundwater, and mi...

Description: The construction of energy-saving transmission network contributes to both economic benefits and greenhouse gas emissions reduction. To reflect the energy-saving effects better, in this paper, a comprehensive evaluation index system and evaluation method for the energy-efficiency effects of energy-saving transmission network are studied. First, an evaluation index system for energy-saving transmission network is established, including indices of energy-saving effects and indices of low-carbon effects. Then, through specific steps of index data preprocessing, index data correlation analysis, index weighting methods, agglomeration model formulation, and comprehensive evaluation results display, the comprehensive evaluation model is formulated. Finally, case study results verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed evaluation index system and assessment method.
