    Description: The precondition of rock stress and deformation analysis is a reasonable rock constitutive model. Most of the previous studies have described the heterogeneous microdamage by Weibull distribution or normal distribution. However, both of them have limitations. Therefore, this paper intends to use the lognormal distribution as the probability distribution model of rock microunit strength. Based on the tensile failure of the single-fractured rock under the hydrodynamic force, the maximum tensile strain failure criterion is used as the distribution parameter of rock microunit strength. And, considering the multiphase properties of the filling fractured rock, the equivalent elastic modulus parameter is adopted in the model. We design a triaxial seepage test for the filled single-fractured rock and analyze the applicability and rationality of the modified lognormal statistical damage model for characterizing the fractured rock by using the test data. According to the comparison of the experimental stress-strain curve and the model stress-strain curve and the analysis of the damage value test curve and the model curve, the rationality of the established statistical damage constitutive model is verified, and the advantages and limitations of the model are proposed.

    Description: Resource limitations and density dependent releasing of natural enemies during the pest control and integrated pest management will undoubtedly result in nonlinear impulsive control. In order to investigate the effects of those nonlinear control strategies on the successful pest control, we have proposed a pest-natural enemy system concerning integrated pest management with density dependent instant killing rate and releasing rate. In particular, the releasing rate depicts how the number of natural enemy populations released was guided by their current density at the fixed moment. The threshold condition which ensures the existence and global stability of pest-free periodic solution has been discussed first, and the effects of key parameters on the threshold condition reveal that reducing the pulse period does not always benefit pest control; that is, frequent releasing of natural enemies may not be beneficial to the eradication of pests when the density dependent releasing method has been implemented. Moreover, the forward and backward bifurcations could occur once the pest-free periodic solution becomes unstable, and the system could exist with very complex dynamics. All those results confirm that the control actions should be carefully designed once the nonlinear impulsive control measures have been taken for pest management.

    Description: To eliminate potential evidence conflicts, an effective and accurate DS combination method is addressed in this paper. DS evidence theory is an outstanding information fusion approach with valid uncertainty treatment. Nevertheless, there are some limitations of the usage of the DS evidence theory. On the one hand, due to the complexity of a combat measurement environment and the inconsistency of sensor capabilities, sensor sources have enormous uncertainty, which would inevitably cause conflicts for evidence combination. On the other hand, DS combination rule realizes the unity property of fusing results with a compulsive normalization, which unavoidably leads to conflicting situations. To solve the possible evidence conflicts in a multisensor fusion system, we raise a robust DS combination method based on evidence correction and conflict redistribution. Firstly, two corrected indexes—the reliability index and consistency index—are separately addressed with the introduction of the Matusita distance function and closeness degree function. After the evidence modification based on two correction indexes, the conflicts caused by unreliable sensor sources are solved. Then, based on the corrected evidences, we put forward a weighted assignment of conflicting mass where the weight index lies on the evidence credibility. As the normalization step is abolished, the conflict redistribution strategy avoids the conflicts caused by straightforward normalization. Through comprehensive conflict management, the proposed DS combination method can not only guarantee the rationality and availability of fusing results, but also enhance the reliability and robustness of a multisensor system. Finally, three combination experiments with different conflicting degrees illustrate the advantage and superiority of the novel combination method for conflict management. Consequently, the innovation of the novel algorithm is verified.

    Description: This paper proposes a new adaptive learning algorithm for Madalines based on a sensitivity measure that is established to investigate the effect of a Madaline weight adaptation on its output. The algorithm, following the basic idea of minimal disturbance as the MRII did, introduces an adaptation selection rule by means of the sensitivity measure to more accurately locate the weights in real need of adaptation. Experimental results on some benchmark data demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has much better learning performance than the MRII and the BP algorithms.

    Description: A distributed sensor network (DSN) can be deployed to collect information for military or civilian applications. However, due to the characteristics of DSNs such as limited power, key distribution for a distributed sensor network is complex. In this paper, a neighbor-based path key establishing method and a seed-based algorithm are put forward to improve the original random key pre-distribution scheme. The new scheme is portable because it is independent of the routing protocol. Moreover, the connectivity of the entire network also approaches 1. In particular, the new scheme can keep high connectivity by setting a small amount of redundancy in parameter values when the number of neighbors drops because of the node dormancy or death. The resilience against node capture in our scheme is not lower than that in thel-path scheme and the basic schemes when the number of hops in a path is larger than 5, and the simulation result shows that the efficiency of our scheme is also slightly higher.

    Description: Sign prediction problem aims to predict the signs of links for signed networks. Currently it has been widely used in a variety of applications. Due to the insufficiency of labeled data, transfer learning has been adopted to leverage the auxiliary data to improve the prediction of signs in target domain. Existing works suffer from two limitations. First, they cannot work if there is no target label available. Second, their generalization performance is not guaranteed due to that fact that the solution of their objective functions is not global optimal solution. To solve these problems, we propose a novel sign prediction on unlabeled social networks using branch and bound optimized transfer learning (SP_BBTL) sign prediction model. The main idea of SP_BBTL is to use target feature vectors to reconstruct source domain feature vectors based on relationship projection, which is a complicated optimal problem and is solved by proposed optimization based on branch and bound that can obtain global optimal solution. With this design, the target domain label information is not required for classifier. Finally, the experimental results on the large scale social signed networks validate the superiority of the proposed model.

    Description: This paper addresses variable-time impulsive control for coordinated tracking problem in nonlinear multiagent systems. To make followers coordinately track the leader, a variable-time impulsive controller is designed. Under some well-selected conditions, the comparison system of variable-time impulsive tracking control system is constructed by employing B-equivalence method. And we theoretically demonstrate that the two systems have the same stability property. Coordinated tracking criteria of multiagent systems are obtained by considering the comparison system. Numerical simulation is also provided to illustrate the correctness of theoretical results and the efficiency of the variable-time impulsive controller.

    Description: The mesh-free method is employed to implement the numerical simulation of the bending behavior of beams with the size effect. On the basis of the classical Bernoulli-Euler beam theory, two higher-order strain components are involved in the beam model. The intrinsic bulk length and the directional surface length components are introduced into the constitutive relationship to describe the size effect, and the variation of the total potential is provided. The moving-least square approximation is used to construct the shape function and its second- and third-order derivatives, and the choice of the scaling factor is discussed in detail. A mesh-free scheme is built to implement numerical simulation, in which the higher-order strains are directly approximated with the nodal components due to the higher-order continuity of the shape function. The convergence of method is illustrated in virtue of an example of the simply supported beam, and the effect of the intrinsic bulk length and the directional surface length components are studied.

    Description: In order to reduce the harm of red tide to marine ecological balance, marine fisheries, aquatic resources, and human health, an optimal Grey Verhulst model is proposed to predict the concentration of nitrogen in seawater, which is the key factor in red tide. The Grey Verhulst model is established according to the existing concentration data series of nitrogen in seawater, which is then optimized based on background value and time response formula to predict the future changes in the nitrogen concentration in seawater. Finally, the accuracy of the model is tested by the posterior test. The results show that the prediction value based on the optimal Grey Verhulst model is in good agreement with the measured nitrogen concentration in seawater, which proves the effectiveness of the optimal Grey Verhulst model in the forecast of red tide.
