Article Intercellular adhesion molecules (ICAMs) participate in cellular processes such as host-pathogen interactions. Here, the authors show that ICAM-1 and ICAM-4 play roles in the invasion of macrophages and red blood cells by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Plasmodium falciparum , respectively.
