Description: For the traditional target localization algorithms of frequency diverse array (FDA), there are some problems such as angle and distance coupling in single-frequency receiving FDA mode, large amount of calculation, and weak adaptability. This paper introduces a good learning and predictive method of target localization by using BP neural network on FDA, and FDA-IPSO-BP neural network algorithm is formed. The improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO) algorithm with nonlinear weights is developed to optimize the neural network weights and biases to prevent BP neural network from easily falling into local minimum points. In addition, the decoupling of angle and distance with single frequency increment is well solved. The simulation experiments show that the proposed algorithm has better target localization effect and convergence speed, compared with FDA-BP and FDA-MUSIC algorithms.

Description: To solve the problem that dynamic Allan variance (DAVAR) with fixed length of window cannot meet the identification accuracy requirement of fiber optic gyro (FOG) signal over all time domains, a dynamic Allan variance analysis method with time-variant window length based on fuzzy control is proposed. According to the characteristic of FOG signal, a fuzzy controller with the inputs of the first and second derivatives of FOG signal is designed to estimate the window length of the DAVAR. Then the Allan variances of the signals during the time-variant window are simulated to obtain the DAVAR of the FOG signal to describe the dynamic characteristic of the time-varying FOG signal. Additionally, a performance evaluation index of the algorithm based on radar chart is proposed. Experiment results show that, compared with different fixed window lengths DAVAR methods, the change of FOG signal with time can be identified effectively and the evaluation index of performance can be enhanced by 30% at least by the DAVAR method with time-variant window length based on fuzzy control.

Description: The data mining and calculation of time series in critical application is still worth studying. Currently, in the field of hydrological time series, most of the detection of outliers focus on improving the specificity. To efficiently detect outliers in massive hydrologic sensor data, an anomaly detection method for hydrological time series based on Flink is proposed. Firstly, the sliding window and the ARIMA model are used to forecast data stream. Then, the confidence interval is calculated for the prediction result, and the results outside the interval range are judged as alternative anomaly data. Finally, based on the historical batch data, the K-Means++ algorithm is used to cluster the batch data. The state transition probability is calculated, and the anomaly data are evaluated in quality. Taking the hydrological sensor data obtained from the Chu River as experimental data, experiments on the detection time and outlier detection performance are carried out, respectively. The results show that when calculating the tens of millions of data, the time costed by two slaves is less than that by one slave, and the maximum reduction is 17.43%. The sensitivity of the evaluation is increased from 72.91% to 92.98%. In terms of delay, the average delay of different slaves is roughly the same, which is maintained within 20 ms. It shows that, under big data platform, the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the computational efficiency of hydrologic time series detection for tens of millions of data and has a significant improvement in sensitivity.

Description: With the drastic change in the market, the assembly line is susceptible to some uncertainties. This study introduces the uncertain cycle time to the assembly line balancing problem (ALBP) and explores its impact. Firstly, we improve the traditional precedence graph to express the precedence, spatial, and incompatible constraints between assembly tasks, which makes ALBP more realistic. Secondly, we establish the assembly line balancing model under an uncertain cycle time, which is defined as an interval whose size can be adjusted according to the level of uncertainty. The objective of the model was to minimize the number of stations and the cycle time. Thirdly, we integrate the operator’s skill level into the model, and a multipopulation genetic algorithm is used to solve it. The method proposed in this study is verified by several test problems of different sizes. The results show that when the cycle time is uncertain, the proposed method can be used to obtain more reasonable results.

Description: Styrax japonicus sieb. et Zucc. is widely distributed in China with ornamental and medicinal values. However, the transcriptome of S. japonicus has not yet been reported. In this study, we carried out the first transcriptome analysis of S. japonicus and developed a set of expressed sequence tag–simple sequence repeats (EST–SSRs). We obtained 338,570,222 clean reads in total, of which the mean GC content was 41.58%. In total, 136,071 unigenes were obtained having an average length of 611 bp and 71,226 unigenes were favorably annotated in the database. In total, we identified 55,977 potential EST–SSRs from 38,611 unigenes, of which there was 1 SSR per 6.73 kb. The di-nucleotide repeats (40.40%) were the most identified SSRs. One set of 60 primer pairs was randomly selected, and the amplified products in S. japonicus were validated; 28 primer pairs successfully produced clear amplicons. A total of 21 (35%) polymorphic genic SSR markers were identified between two populations. In total, 15 alleles were detected and the average number was 6. The average of observed heterozygosity and expected heterozygosity was 0.614 and 0.552, respectively. The polymorphism information content (PIC) value fluctuated between 0.074 and 0.855, with a mean value of 0.504, which was also the middle level. This study provides useful information for diversity studies and resource assessments of S. japonicus.

Description: This paper proposes an approach for generating a set of isocurves as a representation for configuration space (CS) of a mechanism. An isocurve here is a curve in CS with some parameters fixed. Compared with conventional methods like box approximations, sampling points, and boundary tessellations, the isocurve-based representation has some advantages in space parameterization and data management. This approach directly formulates the joint loop equations in the form of kinematic matrices, which does not need any extra conversions and solves the equations with an isocurve-tracing method applying ODE solvers. Since the isocurves are connected in certain orders with the guide isocurves in a lower-dimensional space, tracing all the isocurves only needs one initial solution point for an isolated solution component. In addition, the proposed approach includes an interference-handling step, which trims off the collision portions of the isocurves by checking their feasibility according to the previously defined half-space constraints, and a measure for identifying the forward direction at singular points where the first-order derivatives vanish. The approach is implemented through programming and the results for a few examples show its effectiveness.

Description: As a new type of radar, the FDA-MIMO radar has a good improvement on side lobe suppression and target detection performance compared with the conventional MIMO radar. However, the existing researches on FDA-MIMO radar are almost based on far-field. In this paper, FDA-MIMO radar is applied to the detection of subsurface targets. Aimed at near-subsurface targets, we formulated the signal model of FDA-MIMO radar and combined it with the algorithm of grid of beam (GOB) to detect. Compared with conventional MIMO radar detection, we verified the effectiveness of the proposed method through theoretical simulation.

Description: Although melatonin has been extensively studied in animal reproduction, the mechanism of melatonin in puberty remains elusive. This study was designed to explore the effect of intraperitoneal administration of melatonin on puberty onset in female mice. The injection of melatonin into postnatal days 10 mice at a dose of 15 mg/kg accelerated the puberty onset in mice. Mechanistically, there was no difference in physical growth and serum Leptin levels after melatonin administration. Meanwhile, the serum levels of reproductive hormones involved in hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, such as FSH and estrogen level in serum were increased. The mRNA levels of GnRH and GnRHr were not affected by melatonin, while the expressions of FSHβ in pituitary and Cyp19a1 in ovary were significantly up-regulated. In addition, melatonin still promoted FSH synthesis after ovariectomy. Furthermore, the enhanced activity of ERK1/2 signaling verified that the expression of FSHβ increased in pituitary. We confirmed that melatonin promoted the FSH synthesis in pituitary, thereby increased serum estrogen levels and ultimately accelerated puberty onset. However, these effects of melatonin may be pharmacological due to the high dose. This study would help us to understand the functions of melatonin in pubertal regulation comprehensively.

Description: In concept design, effective decision making and management of schemes can shorten the design cycle and improve product quality. The decision maker (DM)’s confidence is one of the critical factors affecting the conceptual design evaluation. Although many studies use quantitative linguistic evaluation for design scheme decision-making, which improves product conceptual design decision-making efficiency and effectiveness, few studies consider the confidence level of a decision. A conceptual design evaluation method based on Z-numbers is proposed to solve this problem, considering the customer requirements and the DM’s confidence. Firstly, the evaluation criteria are determined by analyzing customer requirements; then, the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process in the Z-numbers environment (Z-AHP) is used to determine the criteria weight; Finally, the fuzzy technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution method in the Z-numbers environment (Z-TOPSIS) is used to evaluate the design schemes to obtain the optimal scheme. The proposed method is applied to the selection of the design scheme of the waste containers in the kitchen. The results show that considering the DM’s self-confidence can achieve a more reasonable and practical evaluation of the conceptual design scheme, and it is easier to obtain the best scheme.
