Notes:
In this investigation the postbuckling response of plane frames consisting of a large number of crooked bars is achieved by means of an efficient method based on non-linear kinematic stability analysis. The entire formulation of the non-linear equilibrium equations presented in matrix form is implemented by the computer program NLSRF (Non-Linear Stability of Rod Frames). Critical loads and critical displacements are obtained through a direct computation by using the additional stability condition resulting from the vanishing of the stability determinant. The efficacy of the method proposed herein is demonstrated by a three-storey single span frame.
