Polarography has been applied to the study of the mixed-ligand system ZnII-alanine-alaninate, in aqueous medium, at I = 1.0 M NaClO4 and 25 ± 0.05°C. The study of the quasireversible waves characteristic of ZnII has been carried out by means of a new method of analysis, which is faster and more accurate than traditional methods. The stabilization of the coordinated species [ZnA]2+ (β10 = 1.8), [ZnA2]2+ (β20 = 0.52), [Zn(A-)]+ (β01 = 9.1 × 104), [Zn(A-)2] (β02 = 9.4 × 108) and [ZnA(A-)]+ (β11 = 6.2 × 104) has been established.
