    Description: In this paper, we present and analyze a global database of soil infiltration measurements, the Soil Water Infiltration Global (SWIG) database, for the first time. In total, 5023 infiltration curves were collected across all continents in the SWIG database. These data were either provided and quality checked by the scientists who performed the experiments or they were digitized from published articles. Data from 54 different countries were included in the database with major contributions from Iran, China, and USA. In addition to its global spatial coverage, the collected infiltration curves cover a time span of research from 1976 to late 2017. Basic information on measurement location and method, soil properties, and land use were gathered along with the infiltration data, which makes the database valuable for the development of pedo-transfer functions for estimating soil hydraulic properties, for the evaluation of infiltration measurement methods, and for developing and validating infiltration models. Soil textural information (clay, silt, and sand content) is available for 3842 out of 5023 infiltration measurements (~76 %) covering nearly all soil USDA textural classes except for the sandy clay and silt classes. Information on the land use is available for 76 % of experimental sites with agricultural land use as the dominant type (~40 %). We are convinced that the SWIG database will allow for a better parameterization of the infiltration process in land surface models and for testing infiltration models. All collected data and related soil characteristics are provided online in *.xlsx and *.csv formats for reference, and we add a disclaimer that the database is for use by public domain only and can be copied freely by referencing it. Supplementary data are available at doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.885492. Data quality assessment is strongly advised prior to any use of this database. Finally, we would like to encourage scientists to extend/update the SWIG by uploading new data to it.

    Description: In this contribution, different approaches based on the X-parametersTM to model the behavior of mismatched nonlinear transfer systems are examined. The X-parameters based on the PHD1-principle introduced by Verspecht and Root (2006) as an extension of the well-known S-parameters describe nonlinear microwave 2-port-networks under large signal conditions. Using load-pull measurement techniques they can be used for arbitrary load situations. Beside this load-pull approach, in the work of Cai et al. (2015), it is stated that it is sufficient to use one optimized X-parameter set for each value of the load reflection coefficient without introducing a large error. In another contribution of Cai and Yu (2015), this approach is extended to cover the whole smith chart with one optimized X-parameter set instead. In this work, these different approaches are compared and brought into question. 1 polyharmonic distortion; Verspecht and Root (2006).

    Description: Finding the number and significant locations of fixed air quality monitoring stations at ground level is challenging because of the complexity of the urban environment and the large number of factors affecting the pollutants concentration. Datasets of urban parameters such as land use, building morphology and street geometry in high resolution grid cells in combination with direct measurements of airborne pollutants in high frequency (1–10 s) along a reasonable number of streets can be used to interpolate concentration of pollutants in a whole gridded domain and determine the optimum number of monitoring sites and best locations for a network of fixed monitors at ground level. In this context, a data-driven modeling methodology is developed based on the application of Self Organizing Map (SOM) to approximate the nonlinear relations between urban parameters (80 in this work) and aerosol pollution data, such as mass and number concentrations measured along streets of a commercial/residential neighborhood of Singapore. Cross-validations between measured and predicted aerosol concentrations based on the urban parameters at each individual grid cell showed satisfying results. The urban parameters used in this case proved to be an appropriate indirect measure of aerosol concentrations within the studied area. The potential locations for fixed air quality monitors are identified through clustering of areas (i.e. group of cells) with similar urban patterns. The typological center of each cluster corresponds to the most representative cell for all other cells in the cluster. In the studied neighborhood four different clusters were identified and for each cluster potential sites for air quality monitoring at ground level are identified.

    Description: During last two decades 200 millions of kutum fingerlings were released into the Caspian Sea Rivers annually. Morpholine as retrieving agent were used by many researchers for homing of fishes. To understand the effects of morpholine on fisheries return of kutum fishes a project with use of tagging method was approved in2004 and its first phase started in 2005. Brooders were selected from Khoshkrud River and breeding were done in shahid ansari hatchery, Rasht. Totally 15930 fishes were subjected for this study. 5480 fingerlings (4-5g.) were used for determining the dose effects of morpholine (3 treatments 5x10*-2,5x10*-5 ,5x10*-7 mg/lit) in return rate and homing of fishes. Results revealed that there were significant differences between kutum return rate exposed with 5x10*-5 mg/lit (0.62 %) with other treatments i.e. : 5x10*-7 ، (0.15%) and 5x10*-2 (0.37%) during the experimented period(P〈0.001). To determine the critical period for imprinting of morpholine 10450 kutum fishes were exposed to 5x10*-5 mg/lit of morpholine in different growth stages(yolk sac fry ,active fry, 2-3-g. fingerlings , 4-5 g. fingerling ).Results showed significant difference between kutum return rate in active fry stage(1 %) compare to other stages i.e. , yolk sac fry (0.23%) , 2-3- g. fingerling(0.23%) , 4-5 g. fingerling (0.26%) and control(0.13) during the tree years of experiment(P〈0.001). There were significant difference in sex ratio [M(1.42): F(1)] in recaptured kutums in khoshkrud river( x2=6.4 α= 0.05 df= 1).Recapturing rate were 6.7 % compare to recapture rate during last 5 year(5%) revealed that morpholine can be use for return rate enhancing of kutum.

    Description: This study was performed to investigate the effect of Ca and P on rearing and biological indices of crayfish (Astacus leptodactylus). Twenty-five isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets were used. The experimental diets were made of the basal diet that was contained casein and gelatin. The basal diet was supplemented with five levels of calcium (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 %)from calcium chloride and five levels of phosphorus (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2%)from natrium phosphate monobasic. The study was conducted in two phases and four experiments. In each experiment the diets with three replicates, totally in the 75 culture tanks containing 100l were used for feeding crayfish with average weights 1-2g and 8-9g for 80 days. In the first and second experiments, 5 and 3 indivisiual crayfish (miniatures) with average weights 1.22±0.21g and 1.31±0.29 g respectively and during the third and forth experiment 10 and 4 indivisiuals crayfish with the average weights 8.48 ±1.03g and 9.06±1.41g respectively were stocked in each cultural tanks. The physicochemical factors of water (temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH as daily and hardness, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate as weekly) were measured for monitoring the condition of farming. The crayfish were fed about 5% of body weight for 3 times per day. The graded levels of Ca did not affect the growth indices. In crayfish (1-2g), weight gain and specific growth rate was significantly affected by the phosphorus levels.The average weight gain, survival, biomass increment in the different treatments was significantly affected by the graded levels of phosphorus. The crayfish were fed with diet containing calcium with 3-4% and phosphorus 1% showed the better growth. In the both group of experimental crayfish, were showed the graded levels of dietary Ca were caused the reduction the body ash and P values were increased. The clear correlation was not observed between the dietary levels of P and body ash and phosphorus in crayfish (1-2g). However, high levels of dietary phosphorus developed the body calcium. In Crayfish (8-9g) showed strong and negatively correlation between the dietary P levels and body ash and calcium. The graded dietary levels of Ca and P were caused increase in molting frequency and weight increment in molting. The optimum dietary levels of Ca and P were analyzed by broken –line regression showed 3-4%, 1% for crayfish 1-2g and 2-3, 1 -1.5% for crayfish 8-9g respectively. The results showed the presence of Ca and P are necessary for normal growth and molting in both group of crayfish. The proper growth was obtained at levels of 2-3% Ca and level of 1% P. Furthermore, the Ca and P ration in diet could not describe the interaction between Ca and P levels on growth function. So the determined Ca and P ratio were not obtained base of growth indices in the freshwater crayfish, Astacus leptodactylus.

During 6 monthes between May – October 2011 in 3 sampling stations by 3 replicates investigations executed. Physic-chemical, Heavy methals, organochloro-organophosphore pesticides and microbial nominated parameters analysed in reference to Iran national and international standards as well, resulted an overall assessment on quality and quantity of Qanat water for aquaculture purposes. Results expressed station 1 in all studied seasons can be develop for fisheries warmwater applications and in cold seasons (September-March) fisheries coldwater relevant activities can be consider. Stations No 2 & 3 known as infeasible for fisheries applications but would be recommend for agriculture rrigation. According to the results, possibility of developing live fish shopping centers (Cold – warmwatetr fishes) between station 1 and before crossing the Qanat flow and Behesht-e-Zahra freeway is considerable, indeed water rights could be negotiate between Tehran Municipality and Tehran province Fisheries Bureo. Also application of feasible anti microbial filters and other minimum limitation parameters control is necessary before leading Qanat water flow into proposed live fish shop. And suitable septic tank is recommended at the outlet of proposed fisheries units. Monitoring of nominated physic-chemical & microbial parameters during operation of fisheries unites highly recommended.

    Description: 15000 juvenile Indian majour carps (Labeo Rohita,Cirhinus merigala, Catla catla) imported (200 ) and transferred to the earthen ponds in Astaneh Fisheries Research Station , In order to assess the viability of rearing under the climatic condition of north part of Iran and also achieve some growth parameters from the larval stage to market size.The fry with 300 mg weight, were released in to 12 ponds. Specimens were separated to tree experimental categories: 1= (30%indian carp and 70% chinees carp) , 2= (50%indian carp and 50% chinees carp) , 3= (70%indian carp and 30% chinees carp) .single chinees carp production were used as control . fishes were fed with artificial food and also with the natural products of the ponds which were enriched with organic fertilizers, after being equally stocked in the ponds .During the experiment, oxygen level ,PH, turbidity, and temperature were measured. Monthly fry samples were taken, for weight and length biometrical analysis and also determination of the weight gain percentage, average daily growth rate, specific growth rate. Results have indicated adaptations and considerable growth in this species, with an increase from the initial weight of 300 mg to an average of 13.5±1.6 mg in 50 days period until the end of November for fingerlings. Also the average weight of growing phase (second year of production ) was 647g for Labeo Rohita ,420 g. for Cirhinus merigala and 734g for Catla catla. The special growth rate (SGR)in Roho was 4.51 %.and 3.9 % for merigal and6.2 % for Catla while for Chinees carps SGR was 4.9, 6.7, 7.6 and 5.8 for silver carp,grass carp, common carp and big head respectively. Results revealed that the Indian majour carps compatibility with the condition in Gilan province was succesfull and the combination of species and optimization of their compatibility were remind for futhre studies.
