Notes: The paper identifies the disturbances in the balance of payments of the non-oil less developed countries responsible for the rapid growth in their external debt between 1972 and 1977. It also examines prospects for the future. It finds that the sharp growth in the current account deficits in the years 1974 and 1975 was due primarily to adverse movements in the terms of trade. But trade terms were reversed in 1976 and 1977 and the deficit was reduced. Still overall inflation, slow export growth, and large interest payments kept the deficit substantially above the 1972 and earlier levels. In part II the paper examines how the debt to GNP ratio of the LDC's could be affected by four factors: export growth, changes in real interest rates, terms of trade, and credit rationing. A model is developed which shows that certain combinations of the four factors could lead to rapid accumulation of debt relative to GNP.

Description: An electrolysis process method for free-form blade surface finishing is proposed for a free-form surface impeller, and a stepwise method is used to process the inter-blade channel of the overall impeller. The forming cathode is then used to finish the blade to meet the blade processing requirements. In the design, the forming cathode structure was improved by using motion simulation software, and the flow field simulation software was used to simulate and analyze the cathode flow channel. The cathode shape and the electrolyte flow rate between the electrodes meet the processing requirements. In the process of processing experiments, the motion path of the cathode was analyzed and optimized. The effect of the feed direction on the uneven distribution of the blade machining gap was reduced through optimization, and high-frequency pulse power processing was used to reduce the machining gap and improve the machining accuracy of the blade. The experimental results show that the process scheme is feasible and the precision of the processed impeller free-form surface is significantly improved. The material is a monolithic turbine disk of high-temperature alloys, and its large twisted blade processing has always been a problem in the manufacturing industry.

Description: The hydrodynamic problem of a two-dimensional wedge entering into a nonlinear wave in three degrees of freedom is investigated based on the incompressible velocity potential theory. The problem is solved through the boundary element method in the time domain. To avoid numerical difficulties due to an extremely small contact area at the initial stage, a stretched coordinate system is used based on the ratio of the Cartesian system in the physical space to the distance travelled by the wedge in the vertical direction. The mutual dependence of body motion and wave loading is decoupled by using the auxiliary function method. Detailed results about body accelerations, velocities and displacements at different Froude numbers or different waves are provided, and the mutual effect between body motion and wave loading is analysed in depth.
