Summary Si-C bonds are formed in two consecutive reactions on the surface of porous and highly dispersed silica. Reactive chlorine atoms are fixed on the surface in the first step by reaction between silica and silicon tetrachloride or thionyl chloride. The products are then added to etheric solutions of phenyl lithium,α-naphthyl lithium, or triphenylmethyl lithium. The stoichiometry of the surface reactions, the maximum coverage of the silica surface with chlorosilyl, phenylsilyl,α-napthylsilyl, and triphenylmethylsilyl groups as well as the properties of the modified silicas are investigated.
Notizen:
Thionylchlorid reaktionsfähige, an Silicium gebundene Chloratome eingeführt.
