\kern-\nulldelimiterspace} v}$$ und $$\alpha = {{\bar \omega a^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\bar \omega a^2 } v}} \right.
Notes:
Summary Oscillatory source flow between two parallel disks rotating with an angular velocity $$\bar \Omega $$ about an axis perpendicular to their planes is analysed. The solution is obtained by expanding the flow functions in powers of the Reynolds numberR=Q o /4πva, whereQ o is the amplitude of the source,v the kinematic viscosity and 2a is the distance between the disks. The first-order harmonic velocity and the second-order steady velocity is obtained and the effect of the parameters $$\Omega = {{\bar \Omega a^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\bar \Omega a^2 } v}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} v}$$ and $$\alpha = {{\bar \omega a^2 } \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{\bar \omega a^2 } v}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} v}$$ , where α is the frequency of oscillation of the source, on the flow characteristics is discussed. For large values of ω and α there arise thin boundary layers near the plates.
