    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract Ring enlargement of fluorenone and 2.7-dibromofluorenone into the corresponding 9-alkoxy phenanthrenes succeeds with very good yields if pure distilled ethereal diazomethane or diazoethane solutions are used. 1.8-dichloro fluorenone yields an epoxide if treated with diazomethane whilst with diazoethane ring enlargment results.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Ringerweiterung von Fluorenon und 2.7-Dibromfluorenon zu den entspr. Alkoxyphenanthrenen gelingt in sehr guten Ausbeuten, wenn man reine, destill. äther. Diazomethan- bzw. Diazoäthan-Lösungen verwendet. 1.8-Dichlorfluorenon bildet mit CH2N2 ein Epoxid, während mit Diazoäthan Ringerweiterung erfolgt.
