Notes: Recent experience with a variety of materials in biomedical applications has demonstrated the importance of material form and shape in determining tissue response to implants. An investigation was made of the effect of pore size on the response of loose connective tissue to porous methacrylate implants. With appropriate pore size, vascular penetration and collagen deposition within the implants were observed to proceed rapidly.
