Notes:
Summary The versatility of adsorption barrier technique in the ring oven method, proposed by Weisz and Abe, was demonstrated by the investigation of the adsorption of acid dyes by magnesium and aluminium hydroxides. Of the hydroxides tested as adsorbents, beryllium hydroxide was found to be useful for this purpose. A rapid procedure for separating small amounts of binary dye mixtures without employing the ring furnace was described using magnesium and aluminium hydroxides as adsorption barrier zones.
