Their vibrational and electronic spectra are reported. The parameters 10 Dq = 13 200/cm and B = 395/cm were calculated from the electronic spectrum of the vanadium(III) compound.
    Notes: Die Darstellung und Eigenschaften der Verbindungen [(C6H5)2PS2]2MoO2 (3), [(C6H5)2PS2]2-VO (4) und [(C6H5)2PS2]3 V (5) werden beschrieben. Die Schwingungs- und Elektronenspektren werden mitgeteilt und letztere mit der Kristallfeldtheorie interpretiert. Für die Vanadin(III)-Verbindung lassen sich aus den Übergängen ν1(3T1g→3T2g) und ν2(3T1g(F) → 3T1g(P)) die Werte für 10 Dq 13200/cm und B 395/cm berechnen.

Preparation, Electronic and Vibrational Spectra of Diphenyldiselenophosphinato ComplexesThe anion of the diphenyldiselenophosphinic acid (dpspi) as a bidentate ligand forms complexes of the type [(C6H5)2PSe2]nM (M=metal). This ligand and its complexes with CoII, NiII, CuI, CdII, and ZnII are reported for the first time. The ligand field splitting parameters are calculated from the electronic spectra of Ni(dpspi)2 and Co(dpspi)2. The position of dpspi in the spectrochemical series is discussed. Its nephelauxetic effect is extremely high. The PSe stretching vibrations of the diphenyldiselenophosphinato complexes are assigned.
    Notes: Das Anion der Diphenyldiselenophosphinsäure („dpspi“) bildet als zweizähniger Ligand Komplexe des Typs [(C6H5)2PSe2]nM (M=Metall). Über diesen Liganden sowie die entsprechenden Komplexe mit CoII, NiII, CuI, CdII und ZnII wird in dieser Arbeit erstmalig berichtet. Aus den Elektronenspektren von Ni(dpspi)2 und Co(dpspi)2 werden die Ligandenfeldparameter berechnet. Die Einordnung von dpspi in die spektrochemische Reihe wird diskutiert. Der nephelauxetische Effekt ist außerordentlich groß. Die PSe-Valenzschwingungen der Diphenyldiselenophosphinato-Komplexe werden zugeordnet.

Vibrational and Electronic Spectra, Normal Coordinate Analysis of the ReS4--IonThe preparation and properties of tetrathioperrhenates MI ReS4 (MI = (C6H5)4As, (C6H5)4P, (CH3)4N) are described. The measured vibrational- and electronic spectra are discussed in terms of the bond properties. For the ReS4- ion a normal coordinate treatment is reported. From X-ray studies it could be derived that the tetraphenylarsonium salt (a = 13.14 Å, c = 7.11 Å) and the tetraphenylphosphonium salt (a = 12.94 Å, c = 7.20 Å) are crystallising tetragonal with Z = 2 probably in the space group S42-I 4.
    Notes: Darstellung und Eigenschaften von Tetrathioperrhenaten MIReS4 (MI = (C6H5)4As,(C6H5)4P, (CH3)4N) werden beschrieben. Die gemessenen Schwingungs- und Elektronen-spektren werden gedeutet und im Zusammenhang mit den Bindungsverhältnissen diskutiert. Für das ReS-4 -Ion wird eine Normalkoordinatenanalyse durchgeführt. Die röntgenographische Untersuchung ergab, daß das Tetraphenylarsoniumsalz (a = 13.14 Å, c = 7.11 Å) und das Tetraphenylphosphoniumsalz (a = 12.94 Å, c = 7.20 Å) tetragonal mit Z = 2 wahrscheinlich in der Raumgruppe S42-I 4 kristallisieren.

Preparation, Electronic and Vibrational Spectra of Diphenyldithiophosphinate ComplexesThe preparation and properties of the chelate complexes of the diphenyldithiophosphinate ion Sn(dptpi)2, In(dtpi)3, As(dptpi)3, Sb(dptpi)3, Bi(dptpi)3, Co(dptpi)3, Rh(dptpi)3, Ir(dptpi)3, Pd(dptpi)2, Pt(dptpi)2 and Au(dptpi)3 are reported. From the electronic spectra of various compounds the diphenyldithiophosphinate ion can be placed in the spectrochemical series between the diethyldithiophosphate ion (dtp) and the chloride ion.  -  The nephelauxetic effect is greater than in dtp. Metal-sulfur stretching vibrations for all compounds are found between 270 and 329/cm.
    Notes: Darstellung und Eigenschaften der Chelatkomplexe des Diphenyldithiophosphinat-Ions Sn(dptpi)2, In(dptpi)3, As(dptpi)3, Sb(dptpi)3, Bi(dptpi)3, Co(dptpi)3, Rh(dptpi)3, Ir(dptpi)3, Pd(dptpi)2, Pt(dptpi)2 und Au(dptpi)3 werden beschrieben. Die ligandenfeld-theoretische Ausdeutung der Elektronenspektren verschiedener Komplexe ergibt, daß das Diphenyl-dithiophosphinat-Ion für die meisten Zentralatome (Ausnahme IrIII) in der spektrochemischen Reihe zwischen dem Diäthyldithiophosphat-Ion (dtp) und dem Chlorid-Ion steht.  -  Der nephelauxetische Effekt ist größer als im dtp. Die Metall-Schwefel-Valenzschwingung liegt in allen Verbindungen zwischen 270 und 329/cm.

Preparation, Electronic and Vibrational Spectra of Diphenylselenothiophosphinato ComplexesThe preparation and properties of the chelate complexes of the diphenylselenothiophosphinate ion (C6H5)2P(Se)S- (= dpstpi) - Co(dpstpi)2 (2), Ni(dpstpi)2 (3), Zn(dpstpi)2 (4), Cd(dpstpi)2 (5), Pb(dpstpi)2 (6), Sb(dpstpi)3 (7) und Cr(dpstpi)3 (8) - are reported. On the basis of the electronic absorption spectra of 2, 3, and 8, the diphenylselenothiophosphinate ion can be placed in the spectrochemical and nephelauxetic series between (C6H5)2- and (C6H5)2PSe2-. The stretching vibrations of the fourmembered chelate ring MS(Se)P are assigned and compared with MS2P and MSe2P ring systems. The strongly coupled PS- and PSe-stretching vibrations of the complexes 2-8 are found between 576-548/cm and 525-510/cm respectively.

Die ligandenfeldtheoretische Ausdeutung der Elektronenspektren von 2, 3 und 8 ergibt, daß dpstpi in die spektrochemische und nephelauxetische Reihe zwischen (C6H5)2PS2- und (C6H5)2PSe2- einzuordnen ist. Die Valenzschwingungen der viergliedrigen Chelatringe MS(Se)P werden zugeordnet und mit denen der Ringsysteme MS2P und MSe2P verglichen. Die stark gekoppelten PS- und PSe-Valenzschwingungen der Komplexe 2-8 liegen zwischen 576 und 548/cm bzw. zwischen 525 und 510/cm.

    Description / Table of Contents: Es wurden die IR-Spektren von Maleinsäure, Na- und K-Maleat sowie der Maleatokomplexe M(mal) · xH2O und H2[M(mal)2] · 4H2O mit den zweiwertigen Metallen M = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn untersucht und vollständig gedeutet. Aus den Carbonyl-frequenzen folgt ein geringerer Kovalenzanteil der M-O-Bindung als bei analogen Oxalatound Malonatokomplexen. Um über die Struktur der Maleatokomplexe Auskunft zu erhalten, wurden auch die Elektronenspektren aufgenommen.
    Notes: Infrared spectra of maleic acid, its sodium and potassium salts, and its metal complexes of the formula M(mal) · xH2O and H2[M(mal)2] · 4 H2O, where M = divalent Co, Ni, Cu or Zn, have been studied. An assignment of all the infrared frequencies have been made by a comparison with related molecules. The carbonyl frequencies indicate less “covalent character” in metal-oxygen bond than in the related oxalate and malonate complexes. The electronic spectra have been recorded and used to obtain the structure of the complexes.

    Description / Table of Contents: 70 rare earths selenocyanate complexes with Phen, Dipy, Urt and Diap as the ligands have been synthetized for the first time.From IR-spectral and X-ray data it has been established that in the compounds Ln(Phen)3 · · (NCSe)3, Ln(Dipy)3(NCSe)3, Ln(Dipy)2(NCSe)3 · 2CH3OH, Ln(Urt)2(NCSe)3 · 3C2H5OH, and Ln(Diatp)3(NCSe)3, where Ln-La, Ce, Pr and Nd, the selenocyanate groups are monodentate and coordinated to the rare earths metal through the nitrogen atom, whereas in Ln(Diatp)4 · · (NCSe)3 ionic NCSe- is present.
    Notes: Es wird über die Darstellung von Selenoxyanaten der SE unter Stabilisierung mit organischen Liganden (Phenanthiolin, Dipyridyl, Urotropin, Diantipyrilmethan) berichtet. Die insgesamt 70 Verbindungen werden infrarotspektroskopisch und röntgenographisch charakterisiert. Aus den Messungen wird auf N-gebundene Komplexe geschlossen mit Ausnahme bei den Verbindungen des Typs SE(Diantipyrilmethan)4(NCSe-)3, in denen die SeCN-Gruppe mit dem SE-Metall durch Ionenbindung gebunden ist.

    Description / Table of Contents: Es wurden die Oxovanadin(IV)-Komplexe VOC2O4 · 2 L (L = DMF, Formamid, Äthylenharnstoff, Harnstoff, Äthylendiamin) hergestellt und charakterisiert. In ihnen ist die Oxalatgruppe zweizähnig, ebenso das Äthylendiamin (über seinen Stickstoff), während die anderen Liganden L über den Carbonylsauerstoff einzähnig koordinieren. Das Vanadin befindet sich in all diesen Komplexen in einer verzerrten tetragonal-pyramidalen Fünferkoordinaten.Geschlossen wird dies aus magnetischen Messungen sowie Elektronen und IR-Spektren.
    Notes: The oxovanadium(IV) complexes VOC2O4 · 2DMF, VOC2O4 · 2 formamide, VOC2O4 · 2 ethylene urea, VOC2O4 · 2 urea and VOC2O4 · en have been prepared and characterized. The oxalato group functions as a bidentate ligand in all these complexes. Except ethylene diamine the remaining ligands - DMF. formamide, ethylene urea and urea - act as monodentate ligand coordinating through their carbonyl oxygen. Ethylene diamine is bound to the metal through nitrogen. In all the complexes vanadium is five coordinated in distorted tetragonal-pyramidal structures.
