The Complexchemical Behaviour of the Phenylglycine-o-Carboxylic Acid and their DerivativesIn solution N-carboxymethyl anthranilic acid (H2A) forms 1,1-complexes (MA) with metal ions. With 2,5-bis(carboxymethylamino) terephthalic acid (H4B) and 2-carboxymethylamino-5-[bis(carboxymethyl)amino]terephthalic acid (H5C), containing in addition to the coordination sphere characteristic for H2A a second one which is separated by space, also protonated and binuclear complexes (MHB-, MH2B, M2B, MHC2-, MH2C- and M2C-) could be detected. From the stability constants of these complexes determined by potentiometric and polarographic methods, a conception on the interaction between two coordination spheres which are separated by space, but coupled by an aromatic electron system, is developed.
Notizen:
