    Notes: An investigation of the behavior of poly(methyl methacrylate co ethyl acrylate) with a commercially available filament-type pyrolysis unit and gas chromatogaph was conducted. It has been hypothesized that the quantity of ethyl acrylate monomer produced under the conditions of the experiment is dependent upon the number of ethyl acrylate-methyl methacrylate bonds contained in the copolymer. These observations were made possible by a standardized samples-handling technique in which a uniformsize disk was pyrolyzed at a maximum pyrolysis temperature of 600°C. This enabled reproducible pyrolysis gas chromatograms to be obtained and permitted pyrolysis products of copolymers containing different ratios of ethyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate to be compared. An examination of sequence distribution data, obtained with the aid of a sequence distribution program for copolymers, showed sufficient agreement with the pyrolysis data to support the hypothesis. It has been demonstrated that pyrolysis gas chromatography may be applied to experimentally determine the sequence distribution of copolymers.

    Notes: Längsnahtgeschweißte Titan-Rohre mit 40 kp/mm2 (390 N/mm2) Mindestfestigkeit weisen insbesondere in Meer- und Brackwasser ein ausgezeichnetes Korrosionsverhalten auf. Sie sind als druckbeanspruchte Rohre zugelassen. Durch ausgewählte Verarbeitungsmethoden läßt sich der Temperaturbereich der Korrosionsbeständigkeit erweitern. Dabei sind enge Spalte, Rohrplattenabstand, Einwalztechnik und Schweißverhalten zu berücksichtigen. Mit längsnahtgeschweißten Titan-Rohren wurden in der Oberflächenveredlung, der chemischen Industrie, in Erdölraffinerien, Kraftwerken und Meerwasser-Entsalzungsanlagen unter sehr unterschiedlichen Bedingungen zahlreiche Erfahrungen gesammelt. Bei geringen Wartungszeiten, großer Lebensdauer und hohem Wirkungsgrad führen sie zu einer gesteigerten Wirtschaftlichkeit der Anlagen.

    Description / Table of Contents: The hitherto unknown tetrahalogeno- and pentahalogenomonophenyl-plumbates(IV) [C6H5PbX4] (M = (C6H5)4P, (C6H5)4As; X = Cl, Br) and M2[C6H5PbX5] (M = (CH3)4N, C5H5NH; X = Cl, Br; M = 1/2 C10H8N2H2, Cs; X = Cl) are prepared by reacting HCl and HBr, respectively, with suspensions of C6H5PbO(OH) and MX in ether and methanol, and also by reacting MX and products, which can be obtained by reaction of C6H5PbO(OH) and HCl or HBr at low temperature in ether; they show a Pb:Cl-ratio between 1:4 and 1:3.3, and are to be explained as anionic complexes of hitherto unknown C6H5PbCl3 and C6H5PbBr3. The polymeric C6H5PbF3 is prepared by reaction of C6H5PbO(OH) and 40% hydrofluoric acid.
    Notes: Die bisher unbekannten Tetrahalogeno- und Pentahalogeno-monophenylplumbate(IV), M[C6H5PbX4] (M = (C6H5)4P, (C6H5)4As; X = Cl, Br) und M2[C6H5PbX5] (M = (CH3)4N, C5H5NH; X = Cl, Br; M = 1/2 C10H8N2H2, Cs; X = Cl) werden durch Einwirkung von HCl bzw. HBr auf Suspensionen von C6H5PbO(OH) und MX in Äther und Methanol dargestellt, ferner durch Umsetzung von MX und Produkten, die bei der Reaktion von C6H5PbO(OH) mit HCl, bzw. HBr bei tiefer Temperatur in Äther gewonnen werden können; diese weisen Pb:Cl-Verhältnisse zwischen 1:4 und 1:3,3 auf und sind als Anionenkomplexe der bisher unbekannten Trihalogenophenylplumbane C6H5PbCl3 und C6H5PbBr3 zu verstehen. Das polymere C6H5PbF3 entsteht bei der Umsetzung von C6H5PbO(OH) mit 40proz. Fluorwasserstoffsäure.
