    Description / Table of Contents: Résumé Les auteurs ont étudié les molécules TiCl4 et TiCl4, 2 HCN au moyen de la méthode GTO-CNDO2 modifiée en vue de son application aux éléments de transition. Les résultats concernant la distance TiCl et l'ordre des niveaux moléculaires dans TiCl4 sont en accord satisfaisant avec l'expérience. L'analyse de population sur le complexe TiCl4, 2HCN décrit la liaison TiN comme une liaison faible à caractère presque uniquement σ.
    Abstract: Zusammenfassung Die Moleküle TiCl4 und TiCl4,2 HCN wurden mit Hilfe einer verbesserten “GTO-CNDO 2” Methode im Rahmen einer Anwendung auf die Übergangselemente untersucht. Die Ergebnisse in bezug auf den Ti-Cl-Bindungsabstand und das Orbitalschema in TiCl4 sind in guter Übereinstimmung mit den experimentellen Werten. Die Mullikensche Populationsanalyse für TiCl4, 2 HCN deutet auf eine relativ schwache Ti-N Bindung mit fast reinem σ-Charakter hin.
    Notes: Abstract The authors have studied the compounds TiCl4 and Ticl4,2 HCN, using a modified GTO-CNDO2 technique suitable for application to transition elements. The results concerning the bond length Ti-Cl and the order of molecular levels in TiCl4 are in agreement with experimental values. A. Mulliken population analysis on TiCl4, 2 HCN indicates that the Ti-N bond has practically pure σ character.
