Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Abstract Deactivation occurring during the dehydrogenation of methylcyclohexane over PtNaY zeolites at different Pt dispersities has been investigated in a tubular fixed bed reactor at atmospheric pressure and 390°C. It has been found that the decay constant does not increase linearly with the number of superficial platinum atoms indicating that the reactions involved in the decay are structure-sensitive. It is postulated that coke is preferentially formed on the dense planes of platinum crystals.
