Thioxanthates of TungstenThe black-blue coloured alkylthioxanthates of tungsten(IV) W[S2C—SR]4 with R = C2H5, iC3H7, tC4H9 have been prepared by reaction of [(nC4H9)4N]W(CO)5I with the corresponding bis(alkylthioxanthogen). The oxidation of W[S2C—SC2H5]4 with iodine leads to brass coloured W[S2C—SC2H5]4(I5).The careful acidification of an aqueous solution containing [S2C—SC2H5]- and WS42- or WO2S22- ions gives black-green (W2S3[S2C—SC2H5)]4 or olive-green W2O3[S2C—SC2H5]4, respectively.The prepared compounds have been characterized by means of chemical and thermoanalytical methods as well as by infrared spectra, electron absorption spectra, 1H-NMR spectra, and mass spectra.
    Notes: Die schwarzblau gefärbten Wolfram(IV)-alkylthioxanthate W[S2C—SR]4 mit R=C2H5, iC3H7, tC4H9 wurden durch Umsetzung von [(nC4H9)4N]W(CO)5 I mit dem entsprechenden Bis(alkylthioxanthogen) hergestellt. Die Oxydation von W[S2C—SC2H5]4 mit Iod liefert messingfarbenes W[S2C—SC2H5]4(I5).Die Darstellung von schwarzgrünem W2S3[S2C—SC2H5]4 bzw. olivgrünem W2O3[S2C—SC2H5]4 gelang durch vorsichtiges Ansäuern wäßriger Lösungen, die [S2C—SC2H5]--und WS42--bzw. WO2S22- Ionen enthalten.Die hergestellten Verbindungen wurden mit chemischen und thermoanalytischen Methoden sowie mit IR—, UV—, 1H—NMR— und Massenspektren charakterisiert.

Crystal and Molecular Structure of Dimethyl Perthiocyanate(CH3)2C2N2S3 crystallizes with Z = 4 in the monoclinic space group P21/c with cell dimensions a = 7.661(4) Å, b = 11.675(5) Å, c = 9.549(5) Å, β = 116.7(3)·. The crystal and molecular structure has been determined from single X-ray data at 20°C and refined to a conventional R of 0.062. The structure consists of isolated 3,5-bis(methylmercapto)-1,2,4-thiadiazole molecules. The 1,2,4-thiadiazole ring is plane and stabilized by mesomerism.
    Notes: (CH3)2C2N2S3 kristallisiert monoklin mit a = 7,661(4) Å, b = 11,675(5) Å, c = 9,549(5) Å, β = 116,7(3)° in der Raumgruppe P21/c; Z = 4. Die Struktur wurde aus röntgenographischen Einkristalldaten bei 20°C bestimmt und bis zu einem konventionellen R-Faktor von 0,062 verfeinert. Die Struktur besteht aus isolierten 3,5-Bis(methylmercapto)-1,2,4-thiadiazol-Molekülen. Der 1,2,4-Thiadiazol-Ring ist planar und mesomeriestabilisiert.

Reactions of Chloramine with Carbon Disulfide and with Methylesters of Dithiocarbamic AcidsThe reactions of chloramine with CS2 and with H2N—CS—SCH3, CH3—NH—CS—SCH3, and (CH3)2N—CS—SCH3 have been studied.The reaction with the methylester of dithiocarbamic acid gives the known dimethyl perthiocyanate and the reaction with the methylester of N-methyldithiocarbamic acid leads to CH3S—CS—N(CH3)—C(=NCH3)—SCH3.The latter compound has been characterized by means of electron absorption spectra, infrared spectra, nuclear magnetic resonance spectra (1H and 13C), and mass spectra.
    Notes: Die Reaktionen von Chloramin mit CS2 und mit H2N—CS—SCH3, CH3—NH—CS—SCH3 und (CH3)2N—CS—SCH3 wurden untersucht.Die Umsetzung mit dem Methylester der Dithiocarbamidsäure führt zum bekannten Dimethylperthiocyanat, während die mit dem Methylester der N-Methyldithiocarbamidsäure CH3S—CS—N(CH3)—C(=NCH3)—SCH3 ergibt.Letztere Verbindung wurde mit UV-, IR-, 1H-NMR-, 13C-NMR- und Massenspektren charakterisiert.

The reaction of the latter compound with H2O2 yields .All compounds have been characterized by means of diverse methods.
    Notes: Die bisher nicht bekannten N-Cyanomonothiocarbimate M2[SOC=N—CN] ·H2O mit M = Na, K, Rb, Cs wurden durch Umsetzung des entsprechenden Alkalimetallcyanamids mit COS hergestellt.N-Cyanomonothiocarbimate reagieren mit Schwefel zum -Ion, das mit Säuren und mit CH3I die Dimethylverbindung bildet, welche sich mit H2O2 zu der Sulfonylverbindung umsetzt.Alle Verbindungen wurden mit verschiedenen Methoden charakterisiert.
