Description:
The gel to liquid crystal phase transition of membrane lipids of live Acholeplasma laidlawii B was monitored by infrared spectroscopy. It was found that, while isolated membranes are predominantly in the gel phase at the growth temperature, the live cell membranes contain a large liquid crystal phase component.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Notes: 〈/span〉Cameron, D G -- Martin, A -- Mantsch, H H -- New York, N.Y. -- Science. 1983 Jan 14;219(4581):180-2.〈br /〉〈span class="detail_caption"〉Record origin:〈/span〉 〈a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6849129" target="_blank"〉PubMed〈/a〉
