Notes:
Summary 1. It was shown that, in free-radical homopolymerization and copolymerization, 2-butoxyethyl vunyl sulfide is more reactive than vinyl ethers. 2. It was shown that 2,2′-azobis[2-methylpropionitrile] is a more reactive intiator in the reactions studied than benzoyl peroxide. In presence of the dinitrile, homopolymers of 2-butoxyethyl vinyl sulfide were prepared in yields of up to 65–68%, and its copolymers with methyl methacrylate were prepared in yields of up to 70–90%.
