    Notizen: Abstract Differential cross sections for elastic scattering of Na(3s) from Ar and Ne were measured with an angular resolution of 0.1° in a range of relative energies between 5 and 20×10−14 erg. Excellent agreement is found between our experimental data for the Na-Ar system and calculated scattering patterns based on a model potential given by Düren et al. [3] with a well depth of ɛ=0.82×10−14 erg and an equilibrium distancer m =5.09×10−8 cm. The spectroscopically determined potential of Tellinghuisen et al. [9] is less suited to interpret our measurements; its repulsive branch has to be shifted to largerr-values by about 0.05×10−8cm. By comparing our Na-Ne measurements with calculations based on model potential of Masnou-Seeuws et al. [7] and of Peach [6] we find that both potentials are too soft in their repulsive part. The best fits to our measurements are obtained with an empirical potential with ɛ=0.16×10−14 erg, as obtained from spectroscopic data,r m =5.35(5)×10−8cm and a repulsive part which is significantly steeper than obtained from model potential calculations.

    Notizen: Abstract Energy and velocity spectra, angular and mass distributions have been measured for evaporation residue products of the20, 22Ne+27Al system in the energy range ofE L (20Ne)=51 to 395 MeV and in the angular rangeθ=2° and 30°. Calculations with simple assumptions of the velocity and angular distributions of the evaporation residues are presented and compared to the data. The structure seen in the mass distributions, a competition between α-particle and nucleon evaporation in the deexcitation of the compound nucleus, is described well by calculations with the computer code CASCADE. The evaporation residues exhibit mass distributions varying systematically as a function of the excitation energy. The excitation function of the evaporation residue cross section is compared with theoretical models. At higher incident energies contributions of incomplete momentum transfer (incomplete fusion) are observed. A limitation for complete compound nucleus formation with following light particle evaporation is found.

The extracted mass and charge distributions are carefully corrected forγ, n, p andα particle evaporation. The resulting primary distributions are analysed with theoretical models which assume statistical neutron and proton exchange on the potential energy surface of the projectile-target system. Dynamical-deformation effects in the framework of the surface friction model are included.

    Notizen: Abstract We present electron energy spectra that arise in Li+ —He collisions in the laboratory collision energy range from 1.4 to 3 keV, and that are observed at 0° and 180° with respect to the Li+ beam. The spectra are composed of a component due to atomic autoionization of doubly excited He in the field of Li+, and a component due to molecular autoionization of the collision system. The variation of the latter component with collision energy and observation angle is analyzed in terms of a newly developed spectral shape function for molecular autoionization that implies a “distribution of travelling velocities” of the collision system during electron emission. From the comparison of calculated and measured spectra it is concluded that the physical interpretation on which the analysis is based is correct. Two parameters of the distribution of travelling velocities are determined.

    Notizen: Abstract Evaporation residue measurements have been made for the40Ar+40Ca system at high incident energies,E Lab=161, 190, 236 and 273 MeV. A dynamical description of the fusion process is presented, where in a trajectory model both rotational and neck degrees-of-freedom are included. Using this model maximuml-values for fusion are determined and at high incident energies are found to be significantly lower than those found when using the more usual one-dimensional effective nucleus-nucleus potential. The fusion cross sections minus the fission component yields evaporation residue cross sections that are in good agreement with the data. Also, mass distributions of the evaporation residues compare well with statistical-decay model predictions. A comparison is made with the similarly mass-symmetric40Ca+40Ca system.

    Notizen: Abstract Exact free energies are calculated numerically for aL×L-Ising lattice (L≦800) with constant nearest neighbour coupling between adjacent columns and random n.n. coupling between adjacent rows. For the latter a gaussian and a double-peaked δ-distribution are investigated. The result should be useful as a check of the controversially discussed replica trick [1]. In agreement with the numerical treatment a mean field approximation shows a transition to a spinglass phase.

    Notizen: Abstract By a recursive method numerically exact free energies are calculated forL×L×M Ising lattices with random bonds andL=4, 4≦M≦10, applying free boundaries in the direction where the lattice is less small and otherwise periodic boundary conditions. Both for the±J model and the gaussian model the specific heat is in fair agreement with Monte Carlo results obtained for much larger lattices. However, the correlation function [〈S 0 S R 〉 T 2 ]av is found to decay exponentially with distanceR [for 1≲R≦9] at temperatures far below the apparent freezing temperatures of the Monte Carlo simulations, implying that there is no nonzero Edwards-Anderson order parameter in equilibrium. This behavior is qualitatively different from Mattis spin glasses (or Ising ferromagnets) where even smaller lattices show pronounced magnetic order at low temperatures. As the Monte Carlo results give evidence for a nonzero Edwards-Anderson order parameter (for not too long observation times), which is fairly independent of lattice size down to sizes of 43, we suggest that Edwards-Anderson ordering is a nonequilibrium phenomenon visible only in studying dynamic properties.

La suscettibilità magnetica oscillatoria di De Haas-Van Alphen per il gas libero 2D è calcolata e i risultati presentati qui incorporano gli effetti di spin (tenendo conto che il taglio di spin non può, in generale, eguagliare uguale separazione del livello di Landau) in formule che hanno la stessa struttura analitica per numeri sia pari che dispari dei livelli completi di Landau.
    Kurzfassung: Резюме В зтой работе при низких температурах исследуется потенсиал и знергия невзаимодействующего некоррелированного двумерного злектроннного газа, подчинющегося квантованию Ландау в магнитном поле. Вычисляется осцилляторная магнитная восприимчивость де Гааза-ван Альфена для свободнго двумерного газа. Полученные результаты учитывают спиновые зффекты (допуская, что спиновое расщепление в общем случае может быть не равно интервалу между уровнями Ландау) в формулах, которые имеют ту же аналитическую структуру для четного и нечетного числа заполненных уровней Ландау.
    Notizen: Summary The grand potential and energy of a noninteracting uncorrelated two-dimensional electron gas subject to Landau quantization in a magnetic field are examined here at low temperatures. The DeHaas-Van Alphen oscillatory magnetic susceptibility for the free 2D gas is calculated and the results presented here incorporate the effects of spin (by allowing that spin splitting may not, in general, equal Landau level separation) in formulae that have the same analytic structure for both even and odd numbers of filled Landau levels.
