Description: The atmospheres of Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus, and Titan are characterized chemically in a review of recent observational and theoretical investigations. Compositions are indicated in tables, and special emphasis is given to the formation of HCN on Jupiter, the differentiation of polar and equatorial zones in the Jovian atmosphere, the mechanisms responsible for the color of the Great Red Spot, and the possible origin of the N2-dominated atmosphere of Titan.
