    Description: Two gynoecial primordia are initiated as discrete units but soon get interconnected by the occurrence of interprimordial growth between them. A rim of meristematic tissue thus produced gives rise to the ovary wall by zonal growth. The residual floral apex grows parallel to the gynoecial primordia in the form of a septum. The two placental ridges arise from the inner lateral walls of the ovary, grow into the ovarian cavity, and ultimately fuse with the axial septum. The anterio- posterior region of the ovary wall also grows into the ovarian cavity to form a false septum which divides each locule into two. The Labiatae show a placentation which is neither true axile nor true parietal but an intermediate condition between the two, as the septum grows like in a typical axile placentation and the placentae like in typical parietal placentation. The gynobase in Labiatae is considered to be carpellary in nature.

    Notes: Due to characteristics of centrifugal pumps, most pumping tests in large-diameter wells exhibit a decreasing abstraction rate with increasing drawdown. Type curves are obtained for the case of abstraction rates which are functions of the well drawdown; values for the type curves are obtained from a numerical model. For the case of constant abstraction, these curves provide an alternative to the classical approach. By plotting the ratio of drawdowns at different times, it is possible to identify more easily when the aquifer begins to contribute to the well discharge. The practical application of the technique is illustrated by a field example.

    Notes: Abstract. The discharge in pumping tests conducted on large-diameter wells declines with the fall of water level. This violates the basic requirement of pumping tests that the discharge should remain constant. A simple device to keep the discharge constant has therefore been developed. This device is also useful in keeping the discharge much lower than the rated capacity of the farmer's pump, and thus in increasing the total test period.The discharge from the farmer's pump is released in a barrel having a V-notch at the top and an arrangement for returning a part of the discharge to the well. The return flow is gradually reduced through a control valve, and thus the net outflow is kept constant.This device has been used for conducting pumping tests on several dug wells.

    Notes: Abstract Ternary nickel-iron-molybdenum alloys containing 0.5–8.5% molybdenum, 18–48% iron and balance nickel were electrodeposited from an acetate bath under a variety of conditions. Satisfactory deposits were obtained from the bath containing 0.3394 M nickel acetate, 0.02878 M ferrous sulphate, 0.0015 M sodium molybdate at current density 2.0 A dm−2, pH 5.0 and temperature 20°C without agitation for plating times up to 30min. The alloy deposits were examined for their crystal structure by X-ray diffraction and microstructure by metallography.

    Notes: Abstract Ternary nickel-iron-cadmium alloys have been electrodeposited from an acetate bath. The effect of bath composition current density, pH, temperature and duration of electrolysis on the deposit composition, quality and cathode current efficiency has been studied. The influence of some addition agents and cathodic polarization has also been studied. The iron and cadmium content decreased with an increase in current density or pH but did not alter significantly with respect to temperature, time or addition agents. X-ray studies confirmed the formation of a single-phase alloy within the composition range studied (84–88 wt% Ni).

    Notes: Abstract The paper discusses the existence of periodic and quasi-periodic solutions in the space relativistic problem of three bodies with the help of Poincaré's small parameter method starting from non-Keplerian generating solutions, i.e., using Gauss's method. The main peculiarity of these periodic orbits is the fact that they close, in general, after many revolutions. It is worth noticing that these periodic orbits give a new class of periodic solutions of the classical circular problem of three bodies, if relativistic effects are neglected.
