Notes: [Auszug] In this way, we have prepared 8-(8-guanosyl)guanosine (GG), 8-(8-guanosyl) adenosine (AG), and 8-(8-guanosyl) inosine (IG); the partial characterisation of AG has been reported previously2. These compounds, whose structures are shown in Fig. 1, all exhibit intense fluorescence emission in the ...

Notes: Abstract We obtain here a perturbative solution of the generalx 2q+2 anharmonic damped oscillator in the coherent state representation. The solution does not contain any secular term and shows, explicitly, the damping and the anharmonic effects.

Notes: Abstract We obtain a perturbative solution for a system of two unequal mass, uniformly-damped coupled oscillators perturbed by anharmonic terms of homogeneous power 4p of the position variables in the coherent state representation. A new frame of time, called quasi-time τ, has been exploited in the derivation. The solution does not contain the vicious secular terms and shows, explicitly, the damping and the anharmonic effects of a coupled system.

Notes: Summary Variation of salt soluble protein fractions of seeds has been observed in a number of rice varieties as recorded in their electrophoregram tracings: both qualitative and quantitative differences were present. Analysis of variance has been found to be useful in estimating the quantitative differences. These tracings or patterns appear to be unique for each of the varieties investigated and seem to be genetical in nature as they remain constant under different environmental conditions, and therefore could be conveniently used for variety identification.

Notes: Abstract This paper present results obtained on rapid solidification of aluminium-silicon alloys from the liquid state. It shows that the limit of primary solid solubility is extended almost to the eutectic composition and that the large supersaturation is relieved on raising the annealing temperature to the range 110 to 450° C. This conclusion is based on measurements of lattice parameter and is also supported by corresponding changes in hardness and metallographic features.

Notes: Abstract This work reports the hole conductivity data of growing AgI film on silver both for the thicker (5500 to 30 000 Å) and thinner (〈6000 Å) ranges at about room temperature. Hole conductivity has been estimated through tarnishing studies of silver in iodine atmosphere and estimation has been based on the fundamental equation of Wagner relating the rate constant and the conductivity of the film. It is revealed that the thinner films show a higher hole conductivity than that of the thicker films under similar temperature and iodine pressure.

Notes: Trypsin was immobilized on sand using five different methods. Attempts were made to attach amino-functional groups onto sand using 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, hexamethylenetetramine, hexamethylenediamine, and melamine. Glutaraldehyde was used as a bifunctional agent in all the methods. Methods for the estimation of the proteolytic 1activity and protein content of immobilized trypsin were standardized. The maximum retained activity was observed for trypsin immobilized on sand via 3-aminopropytriethoxysilane and glutaraldehyde. Immobilized trypsin showed a shift in the pH optimum toward the acidic side over that of soluble trypsin in all five cases. The optimum temperature for both native and immobilized trypsin prepared by the silane-glutaraldehyde method was found to be 45°C. However, the pH and thermal stabilities of immobilized trypsin were observed to be better than that of the native enzyme.
