Notes:
Conclusions 1. In CCl4, the molecules of 1,1,2-tribromo-2-phenylethane coexist in the form of three rotational isomers with the predominance (by 2/3) of the form with the trans disposition of the C-H bonds; the most polar G2-conformer comprises a minor amount (〈-5%). 2. In the trans and gauche retainers, the angles of rotation of the phenyl do not depend on the orientation of the vicinal C-Br bonds.
