Conclusions The above results are from simple quantum-chemical approximations. The ones for C60 may be compared with those from more complicated methods, and in all cases, no matter what the initial model (Hückel method [9, 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 20], EHM [20], MNDO [16], or a nonempirical method [14]), it is confirmed that C60 is stable. Of course, the geometrical parameters corresponding to the optimum geometry differ, but the qualitative electron structure is described correctly by the ϱ approximation. That is natural because C60 is a pseudoconjugated molecule and has a fairly large size and is close to spherical.
