An increase in the sulfur content affects neither the strength characteristics (σ0.2, σu), nor the uniform elongation δu of ferrite-free vanadium-containing casting steels, but does lead to a monotonic decrease in actual deformation ∈f prior to failure. 2. The steel's ductile-rupture strength decreases with increasing sulfur concentration. In this case, the semi-brittleness temperature T50 varies in accordance with an extremal law. The region of appearance of the "sulfide effect" depends on the strength and plasticity of the matrix, as well as on the size of the ferrite grain.
