Summary Porous poly(hydroxamic acid) resins were prepared by suspension polymerization of poly(ethyl acrylate-co-divinylbenzene) followed by the reaction with hydroxylamine via nucleophilic substitution. Various degree of dilution and crosslinking ratio were applied to obtain suitable material for use as a chelating polymer. The effects of degree of dilution and crosslinking ratio on the surface morphology, hydroxamic acid group content, and apparent density were investigated in detail.
