Abstract An experimental study is presented of orientation of polymer crystallographic axes in talc and mica filled polyethylene which has been extruded from various dies, melt spun and compression molded. The data is interpreted in terms of uniaxial crystalline orientation factors. It is observed that in all cases theb crystallographic axis of the polyethylene seems to be oriented normal to the surfaces of the mica and talc flakes.
