    Description / Table of Contents: On (Ba0,5Sr0,5)Cu2V2O8 and Ba(CuMg)V2O8Single Crystals of (A): (Ba0.5Sr0.5)Cu2V2O8 and (B) Ba(CuMg)V2O8 were prepared by solid state reactions below the melting points of the starting mixtures. Both compounds were examined by X-ray technique. They crystallize in the space groups (A): 142d [No. 122]; a = 12.65; c = 8.18 Å; Z = 8; and (B): 141/acd [No. 142]; a = 12.50; c = 8.33 Å; Z = 8. In (A) are Ba2+ plus Sr2+ and in (B) are Cu2+ plus Mg2+ in statistical distribution. The square pyramidal Cu2+ coordination in (A) is changed to an octahedron in (B), by replacing Cu2+ by Mg2+.
    Notes: Einkristalle von (A): (Ba0,5Sr0,5)Cu2V2O8 und (B): Ba(CuMg)V2O8 wurden durch Feststoffreaktionen dicht unterhalb des Schmelzpunktes der jeweiligen Reaktionsgemenge erhalten. Zellparameter und Atompositionen wurden röntgenographisch bestimmt. Die Verbindungen kristallisieren in den Raumgruppen (A): 142d, [Nr. 122] mit a = 12,65; c = 8,18 Å; Z = 8; (B): 141/acd; [Nr. 142] mit a = 12,50; c = 8,33 Å; Z = 8. In (A) sind Ba2+ und Sr2+, in (B) Cu2+ und Mg2+ statistisch verteilt. Die tetragonal pyramidale Koordination von Cu2+ in (A) ändert sich durch den Einbau von. Mg2+ in (B) in eine gestreckt oktaedrische.

    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Crystal Structure of Potassium Magnesium Oxocuprate/-vanadate: KMg2Cu2V3O12.Single crystals of KMg2Cu2V3O12 were prepared by solid state reactions below the melting point of the reaction mixture (K2CO3, MgCO3, CuO, V2O5). It crystallizes with monoclinic symmetry space group C2h6—C2/c, a = 12.1592 Å, b = 12.7204 Å, c = 6.8557 Å, β = 111.73°, Z = 4. The structure type is characterized by VO4 tetrahedra, twisted CuO4 square units, MgO6 octahedra and a special 2 + 4 + 2 coordination around the potassium ion.
    Notes: Einkristalle von KMg2Cu2V3O12 wurden durch Feststoffreaktionen, dicht unterhalb des Schmelzpunktes des Reaktionsgemenges (K2CO3, MgCO3, CuO, V2O5), erhalten. Die Verbindung kristallisiert mit monokliner Symmetrie, Raumgruppe C2h6—C2/c, a = 12,1592 Å, b = 12,7204 Å, c = 6,8557 Å, β = 111,73°, Z = 4. Die Kristallstruktur ist durch VO4-Tetraeder, tordierte CuO4-Baugruppen, MgO6-Oktaeder und Kalium, in einer besonderen 2 + 4 + 2 Koordination charakterisiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: On Ca3IrCuO6Single crystals of Ca3IrCuO6 were prepared by a flux technique and investigated by single crystal X-ray work. It crystallizes with monoclinic symmetry, space group C2h6 - C12/c1; a = 9.032, b = 9.295, c = 6.466 Å, β = 91.35°, Z = 4. Ca3IrCuO6 is isotypic to Sr3IrCuO6. The square planare CuO4 polygones show probably a slightly deficit accompanied by an adequate part of iridium in the oxydation state Ir5+.
    Notes: Einkristalle von Ca3IrCuO6 wurden mit Hilfe von Schmelzmitteln dargestellt und röntgenographisch untersucht. Es kristallisiert mit monokliner Symmetrie in der Raumgruppe C2h6 - C12/c1, mit a = 9,032, b = 9,295, c = 6,466 Å, β = 91,35°, Z = 4. Ca3IrCuO6 ist mit Sr3IrCuO6 isotyp. Die planaren CuO4-Baugruppen zeigen wahrscheinlich ein geringes Defizit an Cu2+, welches durch einen adäquaten Teil von Ir5+ kompensiert wird.

    Description / Table of Contents: A new Alkaline-Alkaline-Earth-Copper-Oxovanadate: Kba3Ca4Cu3V7O28.Single crystals of Kba3Ca4Cu3V7O28 were prepared by solid state reactions below the melting point of the reaction mixture. It crystallizes with hexagonal symmetry, space group C6v4-P63mc, a=11.160, c=12.428 Å, Z=2. Kba3Ca4Cu3V7O28 represents a new structure type with special coordination polyhedra around Ba2+, trigonal prisms and octahedra around Ca2+ and Cu2+ inside square pyramids. The crystal structure will be shown and discussed.
    Notes: Einkristalle von Kba3Ca4Cu3V7O28 wurden durch Feststoffreaktionen, knapp unterhalb des Schmelzpunktes, erhalten. Die Verbindung kristallisiert hexagonal, Raumgruppe C6v4-P63mc, a=11,160, c=12,428 Å, Z=2. Kba3Ca4Cu3V7O28 repräsentiert einen neuen Strukturtyp, mit speziellen Koordinationspolyedern um Ba2+, trigonalen Prismen und Oktaedern um Ca2+ und Cu2+ in tetragonal pyramidaler Koordination. Die Kristallstruktur wird vorgestellt und diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and Crystal Structure of KMgCu4V3O13.Single crystals of KMgCu4V3O13 were prepared by supercooled melts. It crystallizes with monoclinic symmetry space group C2h2-P21/m (Nr. 11), unit cell dimensions: a = 10.7144 Å, b = 6.0282 Å, c = 8.3365 Å, β = 98.075°, Z = 2. The crystal structure is closely related to the BaMg2Cu8O6O26 type. Cu2+ occurs in an unusual trigonal bipyramidal coordination.
    Notes: Einkristalle von KMgCu4V3O13 wurden aus unterkühlten Schmelzen erhalten. Die Verbindung kristallisiert monoklin Raumgruppe C2h2-P21/m (Nr. 11) mit den Zellparametern: a = 10,7144 Å, b = 6,0282 Å, c = 8,3365 Å, β = 98,075°, Z = 2. Die Kristallstruktur ist eng mit dem BaMg2Cu8V6O26-Typ verwandt. Cu2+ kommt in der seltenen trigonal bipyramidalen Koordination vor.

    Description / Table of Contents: A New Structure Type on the first Alkaline-Earth-Iridium-Copper Oxide: Sr3IrCuO6Sr3IrCuO6 was prepared by solid state reactions and investigated by single crystal X-ray work (space group C2h6 - C12/c1; a = 9.300; b = 9.717; c = 6.997 Å; β = 92.15°). The so far unknown compound forms a new structure type. Typical features of the crystal structure are isolated chains of alternate IrO6 octahedra and square planar CuO4 polygones. The coordination of Sr2+ can be described as a square antiprism.
    Notes: Sr3IrCuO6 wurde durch eine Feststoffreaktion dargestellt und an Einkristallen mit Röntgenmethoden untersucht (Raumgruppe C2h6 - C12/cl; a = 9,300; b = 9,717; c = 6,697 Å; β = 92,15°). Diese bisher unbekannte Verbindung bildet einen neuen Strukturtyp. Charakteristische Bauelemente sind isolierte Ketten, die alternierend aus IrO6-Oktaedern und quadratisch planaren CuO4-Polygonen aufgebaut werden. Die Koordinationssphäre der Sr2+-Ionen kann als quadratisches Antiprisma beschrieben werden.

    Description / Table of Contents: The first Alkaline Alkaline-Earth Oxocuprate (II, III): NaBa2Cu22+Cu3+O6The compound NaBa2Cu3O6 was prepared by heating of Na2O2, BaO2, Cu2O in closed Ag-tubes. X-ray single crystal investigations led to orthorhombic symmetry, space group D2h23-Fmmm; a = 8.4229; b = 11.4418; c = 14.4063 Å; Z = 8. Cu2+ and Cu3+ show square planar polygones of four and Na+ trigonal prisms of six O2-. The two barium point positions show coordination numbers C.N. = 8 and 6 + 4. The crystal structure is discussed.
    Notes: Die Verbindung NaBa2Cu3O6 wurde durch Reaktion von Na2O2, BaO2, Cu2O in geschlossenen Silberrohren erstmals dargestellt. An Einkristallen wurde die Kristallstruktur röntgenographisch aufgeklärt. NaBa2Cu3O6 Kristallisiert orthorhombisch, Raumgruppe D2h23-Fmmm mit a = 8,4229; b = 11,4418; c = 14,4063 Å; Z = 8. Cu2+ bzw. Cu3+ sind quadratisch planar von vier O2-, Na+ trigonal prismatisch von sechs O2- koordiniert. Es gibt zwei verschiedene Ba/O-Polyeder mit den Koordinationszahlen C.N. = 8 und 6 + 4. Die Kristallstruktur wird vorgestellt und diskutiert.
