    Description / Table of Contents: On the Crystal Structure of Ba2ZnO3Single crystals of Ba2ZnO3 were prepared by solid state reaction. It crystallizes monoclinic: space group C62h — C12/c1; a = 5.833; b = 11.376; c = 12.585 Å; β = 93.63°; Z = 8. The crystal structure is characterised by 1∞[ZnO3] chains along [100]. They are connected by Ba2+ in seven fold oxygen coordination.
    Notes: Ba2ZnO3 wurde durch Festkörperreaktion in einkristalliner Form dargestellt. Es kristallisiert in der Raumgruppe C62h — C12/c1; a = 5,833; b = 11,376; c = 12,585 Å, β = 93,63°; Z = 8. Die Kristallstruktur ist durch 1∞[ZnO3]-Ketten längs [100] gekennzeichnet. Diese werden durch Ba2+ (siebenfach durch O2- koordiniert) verknüpft.

    Description / Table of Contents: On a New Oxometallate of Manganese (II): Ba5Mn4Nd8O21Single crystals of Ba5Mn4Nd8O21 were prepared for the first time by CO2-Laser technique using H2-atmosphere. It was investigated by a single crystal X-ray diffractometer study. Ba5Mn4Nd8O21 crystallizes with tetragonal symmetry space group: C54h—I4/m; a = 14.2104 Å; c = 5.8581 Å; Z = 2. Mn2+ is found in square pyramids of oxygen.
    Notes: Ba5Mn4Nd8O21 wurde erstmals mit CO2-Lasertechnik in H2-Atmosphäre dargestellt und an Einkristallen röntgenographisch untersucht. Es kristallisiert tetragonal in der Raumgruppe C54h—I4/m; a = 14,2104 Å; c = 5,8581 Å; Z = 2. Mn2+ liegt in tetragonal pyramidaler Sauerstoffkoordination vor.

    Description / Table of Contents: Chelate Complexes of Rhenium Tetrachloride. The Crystal Structures of ReCl4(DME) and ReCl4(DPPE) · TolanBright green crystals of ReCl4(DME) have been prepared by the reaction of rhenium pentachloride with dimethoxyethane (DME) in dichloromethane. ReCl4(DPPE) · tolan was obtained in form of red crystals by the reaction of the alkyne complex [ReCl4(Ph—C≡C—Ph)(POCl3)] with bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (DPPE) in dichloromethane. The complexes were characterized by X-ray structure determinations.ReCl4(DME): Space group I42d, Z = 8, 829 observed unique reflexions, R = 0.022. Lattice dimensions at 19.5°C: a = b = 960.60(6), c = 2337.2(6) pm. The complex forms monomeric molecules with DME as chelating ligand; the Re—O bond lengths are 213.1 pm. The chlorine atoms, arranged in trans position to the chelating ligand, have slightly shorter Re—Cl bonds than the chlorine atoms in cis position (232,1 pm).ReCl4(DPPE) · tolan: Space group P21/n, Z = 4,4313 observed unique reflexions, R = 0.040. Lattice dimensions at -80°C: a = 1095.7(1), b = 1764.2(2), c = 1898.0(2) pm, β = 99.229(8)°. The compound consists in form of monomeric molecules [ReCl4(DPPE)] and diphenylacetylene molecules, which are incorporated in the lattice. The two phenyl rings of the tolan molecules are twisted towards each other along the C—C axis with a dihedral angle of 21°. The DPPE molecules are bonded to the rhenium atom in a chelating fashion with medium Re—P lengths of 250.4 pm. The chlorine atoms, arranged in trans position to this ligand, with Re—Cl bond lengths of 234.5 pm are slightly longer than the Re—Cl bonds in cis position with 232.3 pm.
    Notes: ReCl4(DME) wird in Form leuchtend grüner Kristalle durch Reaktion von Rheniumpentachlorid mit Dimethoxyethan (DME) in Dichlormethan hergestellt. ReCl4(DPPE) · Tolan erhielten wir als rote Kristalle bei der Reaktion des Alkinkomplexes [ReCl4(Ph—C≡C—Ph)(POCl3)] mit Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethan (DPPE) in Dichlormethan. Die Komplexe wurden durch röntgenographische Strukturanalysen charakterisiert.ReCl4(DME): Raumgruppe I42d, Z = 8, 829 beobachtete unabhängige Reflexe, R = 2,2%. Gitterkonstanten bei -80°C: a = 1095,7(1); b = 1764,2(2); c = 1898,0(2) pm, β = 99,229(8)°. Der Komplex bildet monomere Moleküle [ReCl4(DPPE)] und in das Gitter eingelagerte Diphenylacetylenmoleküle, deren Phenylringe einen Diederwinkel von 21° zueinander bilden. Die DPPE-Moleküle sind chelatartig am Rheniumatom gebunden mit Abständen Re—P von im Mittel 250,4 pm. Die hierzu trans-ständig angeordneten Chloratome sind mit Re—Cl—Abständen von 234,5 pm etwas länger als die cis-ständigen Re—Cl-Bindungen mit 232,3 pm.

RbPdF3 and KPdF3 have been obtained. RbPdF3 and KPdF3 both ruby-red single crystals crystallize cubic (perovskite-structure), space group Pm3m-Oh1 (No. 221) with a = 429.41(8) pm (RbPdF3) respectively a = 424.30(4) pm (KPdF3).
    Notes: Einkristalluntersuchungen an PdF2 (amethystfarben) bestätigen die Rutilstruktur [1, 2] mit a = 495,44(3) pm, c = 338,48(3) pm, Z = 2, Raumgruppe P42/mnm-D4h14 (Nr. 136) (xF = 0,3058(8)). RbPdF3 und KPdF3 (beides rubinrote Einkristalle) kristallisieren in der kubischen Perowskitstruktur, Raumgruppe Pm3m-Oh1 (Nr. 221) mit a = 429,41(8) pm (RbPdF3) bzw. a = 424,30(4) pm (KPdF3).

    Description / Table of Contents: On the Crystal Structure of Ba3In2Zn5O11. An Oxoindate/zincatesol;zincate with Zn10O20 and In4O16 Macropolyhedra with Zn2+ in Tetrahedral Coordination by O2-Ba3In2Zn5O11 was prepared for the first time by a flux technique and investigated by single crystal X-ray work. It crystallizes with cubic symmetry, space group T2d-F43m, a = 13.3588 Å, Z = 8. Zn2+ show tetrahedral coordination by O2-, forming Zn10O20 macropolyhedra. In addition the nZn/Osol;O part of the crystal structure is made up of Zn10O20 parts. Edge connection of four InO6 octahedra results in In4O16 groups. The crystal structure will be shown and discussed.
    Notes: Mit einer Schmelzmitteltechnik wurde erstmals Ba3In2Zn5O11 dargestellt und an Einkristallen röntgenographisch untersucht. Es kristallisiert kubisch, in der Raumgruppe T2d-F43m, mit a = 13,3588 Å und Z = 8. Zn2+ ist tetraedrisch von O2- koordiniert und bildet Zn10O20-Makropolyeder. Ferner wird der nZn/Osol;O-Teil der Kristallstruktur aus Zn10O20-Bausteinen zusammen-gesetzt. Die oktaedrisch koordinierten In3+-Ionen verknüpfen über Kanten zu In4O16-Baugruppen. Die Kristallstruktur wird vorgestellt und diskutiert.

The Chain Polymers ∞1[(1,2- (CH3)2C6H4BiCl3)2], ∞1[(1,3- (CH3)2C6H4BiCl3)2] and ∞1[(1,4- (CH3)2C6H4BiCl3)2]In the crystal structures of the three solid state complexes (C6H4(CH3)2BiCl3 (C6H4(CH3)2 = o-xylene: 1, m-xylene: 2, p-xylene: 3) quasi-dimeric units of almost undistorted, arene coordinated BiCl3 fragments can be found that are further associated via additional Bi—Cl contacts to form one-dimensional polymeric chains. Whereas the chains of 2 and 3 are constituted by Bi2Cl2 four-membered rings only, further Cl-bridging in 1 leads to additional trigonal-bipyramidal arrangements with Bi atoms exhibiting coordination numbers of 3 + 3 + 1 and 3 + 2 + 1, respectively (prim. + sec. Cl contacts + arene). The arene-metal bonding is characterized by Bi-arene distances in the range from 297 - 306 pm, including ring slippages of 24 -41 pm and 73 pm with the Bi atoms being six and seven coordinated, respectively. The direction of this slipping with respect to the arene's methylation sites cannot be understood in terms of electronic influences but is shown to be caused by steric demands. The values IP1 of the arenes prove to determine the colours of the complexes.
    Notes: In den Festkörperstrukturen der drei Komplexe (C6H4(CH3)2)BiCl3 (C6H4(CH3)2 = o-Xylol: 1, m-Xylol: 2, p-Xylol: 3) findet man quasidimere Einheiten fast unverzerrter, arenkoordinierter BiCl3-Fragmente, die über zusätzliche Bi—Cl-Kontakte zu eindimensionalen polymeren Ketten assoziiert sind. Während die Ketten von 2 und 3 nur aus Bi2Cl2-Vierringsegmenten bestehen, führt eine weitere Verbrückung in 1 zusätzlich zu trigonal-bipyramidalen Anordnungen mit Bi-Atomen der Koordinationszahlen 3 + 3 + 1 bzw. 3 + 2 + 1 (prim. + sek. Cl-Kontakte + Aren). Die Bindung des Arens an das Metall ist durch Bi-Aren-Abstände zwischen 297 und 306 pm charakterisiert. Die „ring slippage“ beträgt 24-41 bzw. 73 pm bei den sechsfach bzw. siebenfach koordinierten Bi-Atomen. Die Richtung dieser Verschiebung in bezug auf die Lage der Methylgruppen des Arens kann nicht auf elektronischer Basis interpretiert werden, sondern ist sterisch verursacht. Für die Farbe der Komplexe erweist sich IP1 des Arens als bestimmend.

    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and Crystal Structures of (PPh4)2[In(S4)(S6)Cl] and (PPh4)2[In(S4)Cl3]InCl and PPh4Cl yield (PPh4)2[In2Cl6] in acetonitrile. This reacts with Na2S4 in presence of PPh4Cl, forming (PPh4)2[In(S4)(S6)Cl]. Its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction (R = 0.075, 2 282 observed reflexions). It is isotypic with (PPh4)2[In(S4)(S6)Br] and contains anions with trigonal-bipyramidal coordination of In, Cl occupying an axial position, and the S4 and S6 groups being bonded in a chelate manner. The reaction of (PPh4)2[In2Cl6] and sulfur in acetonitrile yielded (PPh4)2[InCl5] and (PPh4)2[In(S4)Cl3]. The crystal structure analysis of the latter (R = 0.072, 4 080 reflexions) revealed an anion with distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination of In, the S4 group occupying one axial and one equatorial position; the S4 group shows positional disorder.
    Notes: Aus InCl und PPh4Cl entsteht in Acetonitril (PPh4)2[In2Cl6]. Aus diesem wurde mit Na2S4 im Beisein von PPh4Cl (PPh4)2[In(S4)(S6)Cl] erhalten. Seine Kristallstruktur wurde mittels Röntgenbeugung bestimmt (R = 7,5%, 2 282 beobachtete Reflexe). Es kristallisiert isotyp zum (PPh4)2[In(S4)(S6)Br] und enthält Anionen mit trigonal-bipyramidaler Koordination des In; das Cl-Atom nimmt eine axiale Position ein und die S4- und S6-Gruppe ist jeweils chelatartig gebunden. Aus (PPh4)2[In2Cl6], PPh4Cl und Schwefel entstanden in Acetonitril (PPh4)2[InCl5] und (PPh4)2[In(S4)Cl3]. Nach der Kristallstruktur des letzteren (R = 7,2%, 4 080 Reflexe) ist im [In(S4)Cl3]2--Ion das In-Atom verzerrt trigonal-bipyramidal koordiniert, wobei die S4-Gruppe an eine axiale und eine equatoriale Position gebunden ist; die S4-Gruppe ist fehlgeordnet.

    Description / Table of Contents: A New Structure Type of the Formula A2MO4: Pb2Mn4, a Tunnel Structure with one-sided Coordination of Pb2+ IonsPb2MnO4 was prepared and investigated by single crystal X-ray technique (space group D2d4-P421c; a = 12.773; c = 5.142 Å; Z = 8). Pb2MnO4 crystallizes with a new structure type, it is not isotypic to Pb2PbO4 or Pb2PtO4. The main difference of the new structure type concerns zig-zag-chains of edge connected MnO6-octahedra. The polyhedra network and the tunnel frame of Pb2+ are nevertheless very similar to the Pb3O4 structure.
    Notes: Pb2MnO4 wurde einkristallin dargestellt und die Kristallstruktur mit Röntgenmethoden aufgeklärt (Raumgruppe D2d4-P421c, a = 12,773; c = 5,142 Å; Z = 8). Es bildet einen neuen Strukturtyp, der nicht mit Pb2PbO4 bzw. Pb2PtO4 isotyp ist. Der wesentliche Unterschied beruht auf Zick-zack-Ketten kantenverknüpfter MnO6-Oktaeder. Polyedergerüst und Tunnelaufbau von Pb2+ ähneln jedoch der Struktur bei der Modifikation von Pb3O4.

Die Herstellung und die vollständige Kristallstruktur des in organischen Lösungsmitteln löslichen (Ph4As)2[Mo3S13] · 2CH3CN wird mitgeteilt, zusammen mit einer Verfeinerung der Kristallstruktur von (NH4)2[Mo3S13] · H2O.
    Notes: The electronic structure of the triangular thio cluster [Mo3S13]2- has been studied by electronic absorption and XP spectra and is discussed in terms of SCF-Xα-SW calculations. The synthesis and crystal structure of (Ph4As)2[Mo3S13]·2CH3CN, which is soluble in organic solvents, are reported together with a refinement of the crystal structure of (NH4)2[Mo3S13]·H2O.
