Description:
A new technique has been developed to measure ocean surface slopes by polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR). This technique has the potential of estimating surface slop in the along-track direction at an accuracy of a fraction of a degree. Experimental results using the NASA/JPL AIRSAR P-, L-, and C-band data from the Gulfstream 90 Experiment showed a sudden slope change at a converging current front.
