Notes: Abstract In this note, we prove a harmonic-type maximal principle for the Schur parametrization of all contractive interpolants in the three chains completion problem (see [4]), which is analogous to the maximal principle proven in [2] in case of the Schur parametrization of all contractive intertwining liftings in the commutant lifting theorem.

Notes: Summary.  A simple and efficient synthesis of the hitherto unreported ring systems pyrano[3,2-f]quinolin-2(7H)-one and furo[3,2-f]quinolin-2-one was accomplished via a thermal [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement.

Notes: Abstract Let X be a Riemann surface equipped with a projective structure. Let $$\mathcal{L}$$ be a square-root of the holomorphic cotangent bundle K X . Consider the symplectic form on the complement of the zero section of $$\mathcal{L}$$ obtained by pulling back the symplectic form on K X using the map ν ↦ ν⊗2. We show that this symplectic form admits a natural quantization. This quantization also gives a quantization of the complement of the zero section in K X equipped with the natural symplectic form.

Notes: Abstract We present the gravitational coupling function ω(φ) in the vacuum scalar-tensor theory as allowed by the Noether symmetry. We also obtain some exact cosmological solutions in the spatially homogeneous and isotropic background thereby showing that the attractor mechanism is not effective enough to reduce the theory to Einstein theory. It is observed that, asymptotically, the scalar tensor theory goes over to Einstein theory with a finite value of ω. This work thus supports earlier works in this direction.

Notes: Abstract: Helium-broadened line shapes of the rovibrational transitions of the ( ν 1 + 3ν 3 ) combination-overtone band of C2H2 have been studied by using a near IR diode laser spectrometer. The 2 f frequency detection technique has been employed for signal detection of these weak band transitions. The linestrength parameters and broadening coefficients (HWHM) have been extracted by fitting the observed line shapes with Voigt profiles. Helium, lightest noble gas perturber, exhibits the effect of close collisional dephasing on pressure broadened line profiles. Due to overlapping of atomic orbitals the repulsive interaction dominates over attractive interaction for collision diameter in the 3 to 4 Årange. In order to interpret this type of linear polyatomic-monatomic collision phenomena the Tipping-Herman potential has been chosen. Emphasis has been given to the analysis of observed data to obtain information about interaction potential, phase-shift and molecular constants. The results obtained from detailed semi-classical model calculations are found to be in good agreement with the observed data.
