    Notes: The objective in this study is to evaluate the mediating role of personal factors affecting the Web behaviour and in turn the length of Web sessions as a highly-subjective variable among individuals. This could be used to explain and improve the users' experience of being and acting in the Web. The present study uses a flow- versus goal-directed theoretical and practical approach to determine the influence of personal factors on Web behaviours and session lengths. A field study of 209 Web users was conducted to validate measures used to operationalise model variables and to test the hypothesised network of relationships using partial least squares (PLS) as a second-generation multivariate analysis technique. The study findings indicate that experiential behaviour, followed by goal-directed behaviour, has the largest influence on the lengths of Web sessions.

    Notes: Organic production and its consumption have grown tremendously in recent years. However, in the case of Spain demand still represents only 1 per cent of food expenditure. The main obstacle seems to be that organic food faces problems related to consumers' acceptability; lack of food availability and seasonality make it difficult to establish appropriate retailing outlets; also, higher costs of production and retailer margins jointly may result in higher prices than consumers are willing to pay for organic food attributes. Research studies have mostly elicited consumers' willingness-to-pay (WTP) for organic food through contingent valuation. Alternatively, explores, using an experimental second-price sealed-bid auction, the value that consumers place on organic food and the effect that information included on ecolabel and physical appearance have on their WTP. This methodological approach involves the use of real money and real products, which, in fact, may overcome the hypothetical bias detected in previous studies. Also discusses the effect on WTP of consumers' demographic characteristics and lifestyles, as well as attitudes towards food safety and buying behaviour. Results show, that as more accurate information is offered, consumers' acceptability of labelled organic food products increases; and that WTP is highly correlated with consumption habits variables.

    Notes: Shows the results of a survey about the antecedents of work-family conflict in a sample of Spanish employees. Analyses and discusses the influence of job-related and non-related factors. The results indicate that both groups of factors are antecedents of work-family conflict. Even though gender is not a significant variable to explain work-family conflict, the empirical study found differences at the time to explain the antecedents of men and women's work-family conflict. A few family-domain and work-domain perceptions had a strong influence on work-family conflict such as the gender roles, importance of family, job flexibility and job mental and physical requirements. Some of these perceptions suggest the influence of a culture where traditional gender roles still prevail and family as an institution is very strong. Functional mobility and educational level are also antecedents of work-family conflict. However, job category level, marital status, and social benefits do not have any influence on work-family conflict in the multivariate analysis, but the bivariate analysis showed that they have indeed an influence on the work-family conflict according to the hypotheses developed in the research framework.

    Notes: The purpose of the research was to extend on previous research by studying latent consumers' attitude to farmers' markets. Findings will be used to improve the marketing and publicity of farmers' markets in order to attract other consumers groups. The people surveyed were not always aware of the term farmers' market. Some think it is a place where farmers go to buy what they need. Around 94 per cent of people who have already been to a farmers' market will return because they enjoy the food which is fresh, different, local, etc. and to support farmers. Latent consumers think that farmers' markets sell fresh, quality, locally produced, tastier, healthier and seasonal food. However they do not expect the food to be cheaper. The most important criteria are quality, freshness and the fact that food is produced locally. Latent consumers would enjoy supporting local producers, information about the products and how to prepare them.

    Notes: This case study investigates attitudes towards delicatessen and speciality food for consumers in the North West region. The speciality food sector has experienced above average industry growth over recent years. The UK market for speciality food and drink was £3.3 billion in 2001, according to market analyst Datamonitor, which predicts sales will grow by 5.5 per cent over the next five years. The heart of the category, the traditional speciality counter, shows clear signs of being seriously under threat. Market forces have put speciality food into a paradoxical situation - growing in response to demand while simultaneously losing traditional small outlets.     Notes: This paper analyzes the results of a survey about labor mobility of a sample of 1,182 Spanish employees. The results indicate that women have lower mobility than men, and that the mobility of men and women is explained by different factors. The employee's perceptions about job satisfaction, pay fairness, and employment stability are also more explicative of job mobility than traditional job-related factors, such as wages or training. These results have managerial implications for the segmentation of men and women in the labor market.

    Notes: This paper anayzes the differences of male and female human resource (HR) managers' perceptions on the benefits, barriers and feasibility of teleworking adoption in a sample of Spanish companies. The results indicate that teleworking is seen as more feasible where there are a large number of female employees, and that female HR managers perceive teleworking differently than male HR managers. Women tend to be more positive about the potential of teleworking.

    Notes: The main aim of the paper is to study the causal relationship between two constructs, perceived quality and satisfaction, in the particular case of multiservice organisations. These organisations offer a range of services to their customers, so that evaluation of perceived overall quality and of satisfaction is more complex than that of a single service. The study centres on two publicly-owned multiservice organisations: hospitals, and universities. The particular nature of multiservice organisations is that, when dealing with the influences of the dimensions of perceived quality, it is necessary to take into consideration not only the perceived quality of each of the services, but also the perceived overall quality of the multiservice organisation and the overall satisfaction with it.

    Notes: A comprehensive model of commitment in the context of consumer-retailer relationships is developed in this study. It gives a careful description and theoretical justification of the different dimensions, which compose this construct. To check the reliability and validity of the scale of measurement proposed, the generation and purification of the measurement items is subjected to a rigorous process, aiming at testing the higher-order structural model proposed in this paper. According to this model, commitment is composed of five final dimensions. The results confirm the outlined structure previously indicated in this study, obtaining a reliable and valid scale. Theoretical and managerial implications, limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

    Notes: Given the situation that the banking sector currently faces, this paper will focus on the importance of the presence of client commitment to retailers in general and, more specifically, to financial institutions. So, comments will be made concerning the evolution and current situation of the banking services sector in Spain. In addition, the concept of relational commitment as well as the influence that its development has on the presence of bank client loyalty will be specified. Lastly, an empirical study is developed. The results show differences in the commitment level that individuals project based on links to distinct types of financial entities.
